Nice one Mike. I'm just in the process of migrating from Cakewalk to Studio One, so your new channel launch couldn't have been better timed 😀

Haha. I migrated from Cakewalk to Studio One, around the same time I stumbled across Mike's Cakewalk tips video. So glad to see him continuing that helping tutorial for studio One as well

I've used both and I feel that the audio quality of Studio One is better than Cakewalk. However, Cakewalk is amazing for free.

Mike, I'm glad to see a dedicated Studio One channel! The recent Creative Sauce videos tended to focus more on Cakewalk and less on Studio One. This will be a great source of useful information from a great teacher! Thanks again and hope you're doing well! 🙂

Thanks Daniel. Yes, after I had started doing S1 videos, I realised that it was a bit 'muddy' to cover 2 DAWs in one space. I had been wanting to do this for a while - and am happy the time is here!

I like that.. propeller head reason has a plugin now that is a VST host, and can display all the instruments.. So, they also added a way to add thumbnails.. by pressing the "camera" icon on the plugin, it makes a thumbnail of that plugin (snap shot).. so this is very cool that Studio One does this too ! Didn't know about the normalize.. cool.. Mike, I am migrating to Studio One 7.. now they have advanced tempo detection by using melodyne in the background like CWbB does, now Studio One does it in about 3-4 clicks.. It's the one thing that kept me from migrating.. ;) Kudos to Presonus.. FINALLY !!

DOOOOOOD! The normalize trick is SWEET! I often struggle (as I assume many do) with trying to get optimal gain but avoid distortion. Sometimes I have a GREAT take, but my vocal track or whatever might have been low for one reason or another. In the past I have had to adjust the 'gain' volume to get it because a Normalize function left it with minor distortion, but enough to be audible to me. This is a game changer!

I like these videos so much, I am starting at the beginning the way Mike intended. Relatively new to Studio One, I was "scraping by", but this channel is a great way to learn how to get more out of Studio One. And Mike, I did not know about the custom setting for normalize audio. Thanks for what you do.

Thank you so much Mike! I hope YOU are well! :) Hey, this is super helpful and really a blessing. Watching your videos and as a brand new user to DAW and Studio One, you have made this transition much. much easier. So much to learn! Appreciate you!

Not only did I not know about the Normalize to a certain db trick, I didn't know about your "Sister" channel. I immediately subbed. I started with Cakewalk and your vids some years ago but purchased the iOStation 24C. It just doesn't work as well with Cakewalk as it does with S1, where it is fully integrated...So I have been using S1 as my main DAW. I just really miss the Pro-Channel and hope that S1 will migrate the Fat-Channel to this format somehow where there is an option to view it inline with the fader strip, if that makes sense... Anyway, Kudos on the sister channel Mike! (I know you secretly like S1 more than CW) 😁

Hi MIke, great video series! I've been using SO since it first came out (right after I bought it, they came out with version 2 .0 😪). Learned all of these tips years ago, but managed to forget a couple of them! Thanks much for the refresher - I will be using the loop selection trick - I could have used it a lot yesterday! I really enjoy your videos and your style of teaching is top notch! I'm here for good. No matter how much I know, and I'm considered a "power user", I still find little things that I either missed or forgot about and now I can count on you to keep me up to speed. Thanks for the help and I look forward to the next video.

Hi Mike -- good channel. I really appreciate your videos because they are always useful and get right to the point. Nicely produced and very easy to see what's going on. I've been using S1 for quite a while now -- undoubtedly one of the best software purchases I've ever made -- but it's SO big and powerful, I'm always learning new things. Thank you!

I knew about that normalize feature, but always thought it was too loud, but also did NOT know what you said about it, that a track's highest peak is normalized at Unity, or 0 DB. Thanks....I have seen other vids you've done and I like your style of doing through whatever process you are explaining, and you dont do it like you have to run to a fire!
