Lube stabs using interdental brushes! Its easy without having to remove the switches from the pcb. Tried this myself. Not perfect but gets the job done. Spray Lube switches! Been tried out a lot in Korea, and some people like it. Using Aerosol SuperLube to lube switches rather than brushing lube. Messier, but it is easier. Havent personally tried but it works.

@@TooGood4Gamesv1 No it doesn't, unfortunately, which might be a dealbreaker for some. But if you're set on which switches you like, it could be a good option if you're into RGB and like the 60% form factor. One major downside is that Ducky only offers Cherry switches (no option for Kailh box or Gateron).

I learned how to solder for guitar electronics. With an inexpensive (15dollar) iron, and a solder sucker pump I was able to desolder my corsair k70 and lubed all the switches. That and the stabilizers REALLY improved this board. No more rattle and the cherry silvers feel amazing. That being said it was tedious as hell. I don't think I'd ever want to lube switches again.

This is a helpful and awesome video (earned my sub easy bro.) tyvm! I ordered the GMMK Pro (medium size 75%) keyboard. It's by far the nicest keyboard I've ever owned. It made me love keyboards so much that I was even looking into cool artisan made key caps. I'm currently using the GMMK Pro with lubed glorious lynx switches and typing has become actually very fun since then. I'd highly recommend the glorious lynxes for switches. They are great for pretty much anything you'd need to do with your keyboard. The only thing about this keyboard is that it can become very pricey. I've heard they last at least 5-10 yrs tho so im not worried about how much I spent as long as I love the product. Great vids keep it up!

I remember doing a 104 key keyboard and pulling apart the switches by hand and the next day my thumbs, index finger, and ring finger, we red, swollen and it was like that for a couple days... for your health and sanity just get a switch opener, they are pretty cheap and then you won’t have to fail at life like me XD Good luck on your Keyboard Endeavors Everyone!

u forget to metion about lubing top housing when stem is touching to eliminate upstroke sounds

Btw you will have to desolder switches from gaming kb to lube plate mount stabilizers. Or just take a brush and showe a lot of lube in that hole of the stabilizers. After showing enough it will be similar as lubing with mentioned method. Just that you will need to use more lube because you will be trying to shove a lot of lube and try to reach places where there is actually usefull To become master luber starts from holy panda, because it is a hardest switch to lube because you have to open khail switches, cherry switches, lube and springs swap everything

Yes u can but it’s worse than just taking the switch off because you can’t reach a lot of areas and the lube will be very inconsistent

Is there an easy way to check for "standard" vs "nonstandard" layout? Or do you have to actually look at it (as in like, *know* what size keys are standard vs nonstandard)

Typically just looking at it is the easiest way to tell. I would pay attention to the shift key on the right side and the bottom row as those tend to be the most common keys that will be incompatible if it's non standard. Which keyboard are you wondering about?

You should always look at the keycap size relating to another. Typically an alphanumeric key is 1u. Make sure you buy the keycap kit with the right 'u' measurements. For example, some poeple want a shorter right shift to add an extra button: they would need the 1.75 u instead of 2.75u right shift then an extra 1 u key for that row.

I am thinking about a black and grey mod for keycaps on a Razer Blackwidow lite. Is it worth it? and any recommendations on where to get the keycaps from given the bottom row...

Love the green, grey and offwhite keycaps with the lime. Anyone know which set that is?

I just got a Keychron K2. My first mechanical. I'm considering doing a very simple mod when I saw Cherry MX made these small sets of colored WASD and arrow keys. But, since I'm a typist by trade, I worry that the WASD keys will feel different compared to the original K2 set. Will they?
