I have a comfortable paid-for home, work I love, and passive income. All I want now is an attractive male who enjoys my company. I want the monogamy with him I enjoyed with my late spouse. We don't have to move in with each other or marry. His place can look and be however he wants it, and I'll enjoy spending the night there, as I hope he would at mine.

I think it helps to make a good first impression by wearing a dress or a skirt - something besides pants or jeans. I wear dresses all the time but live in an area where jeans are worn more often and I've noticed, even though I'm not "looking', that men will smile at me or hold doors open for me or simply be kinder and "clean up their language" due to the way I dress. Very surprising!

Hearing you say how you smiled at so many men at the homewares show and you got great interest of all ages doesn't surprise me. You personally have a young energy and your smile is the red carpet to men, and doesn't that just make sense? I think this tells us in our 50s, 60s and up that we need to stir up our own internal waters as opposed to leaving it still or dormant within us.

+Sixty and Me I totally agree with all of this, and am so glad I found this video today. I love everything that was said (although I do feel sex should be for a committed relationship, but to each their own). I think that a challenge in such a youth obsessed society as the U.S. (especially for women), is feeling confident about your appearance. We need to truly realize that real beauty comes from within and has nothing to do with age, and actually can grow with age and life experience. Of course that doesnt mean we shouldn't try to look attractive outwardly too. And nothing is more attractive, as the ladies in the video stated, than a warm, friendly smile.

Just tell him that you don't want to go out with him again because you did it to find out what it would be like to change from a friendship to dating, but it wasn't right for you. If he is a genuine friend he will accept that. If he doesn't accept it, then he's not worth having as a friend.

It's important, I think, for women to handle this and not just feel they can't say anything when it's happening. Counseling can be helpful. I look back at many times when I entered into relationships under pressure (2 times stand out in my mind), not to mention having been date raped suddenly with someone I had not even kissed. Women must step up and show the boundaries with confidence and create what they want, their best life that serves them. No time to waste at this point in life. Best wishes to you.

WELL.... I rather disagree here -- the "getting out there" has become a ridiculous cliché now... Are you aware that SO many men in their 60's are incredibly unhealthy, broken down not to mention too many do not even make efforts in their appearance; your information suggests that it's all about what women could do better. I came across a man who was in My h.s. grad class 50 years ago; now keep in mind I'm in good condition - minus any debilitating illnesses, etc. OK... Jump to meeting him - nice guy, 15 years first marriage then divorced, second marriage... 32 years wife recently deceased just last year... First off, when we embraced after the first time hello the first thing he said was it had been SO long since he touched a woman; all in all he's really broken down; knee replacements, hearing aid not to mention he sleeps with a CPAP as well as being about 50 to 60 lbs overweight! Why, I ask should I level THAT far down in order to as you say - "give a man a chance?" Too many times your post ask what are WOMEN doing wrong, that's truly rather a bit much. As far as being invisible is concerned, yes with all the smiles and ez going ways I possess, the reality is that men really DON'T even look in My direction any longer, it's true. AND, yes .. it's true... Men do want younger, (moldable and dumber!) girls... Is it too much to ask for an average guy who can keep up and someone I don't have to be his nurse? THEY/men need to pull themselves together. As a 69 year old... I've been there and still here 👍

I think there is so much said about men understanding women but not nearly as much as women understanding men. It’s as if “love” is more important than “respect” which is more of a woman thing. Just look at all the greeting cards for couples about love…. but love for a man is usually respect. Our society seems to say that women know more about love. Wrong.
@watchmanonthewall143 жыл бұрын
Ladies, be careful when using the word "friends", when talking about men. Throughout my life, I have found it difficult to be long-term "friends" with women, because all the women who wanted to be my friend really wanted a relationship with me. Things get complicated. There becomes a push/pull tension. Eventually, that becomes uncomfortable, and I must end it. Besides, strictly speaking, my best friendships, other than having a significant other, come from males, because males have so much in common with males. Males don't have to be at their best with other males and be on our toes all the time. Cheers.
@toriarose Жыл бұрын
Men, same. I asked one guy "friend" why guys do this. Why they act like they want to be friends, and women make it clear that they don't want a relationship with them, but they keep hanging around. He said, "Forever hopeful." So it's not just women (as often is the case across the board), it's desperate people of both genders. Self-aware ones, self-loving/respecting people don't do this.

How about 70's?

Most men 57-60 + seek younger, or lease escorts. Sad but true. Too many on both sides are set in their ways , so not very flex or livable beyond brief honeymoon stage. In a nutshell, dating after 55+ isn't on the top of most mens list due to the difficulties of some ladies, too many hurdles and games. So, hello easier porn and leasing what u need. Just the messenger here lol! Lastly, most women 55-60+ have babies at home, literally. Grandkids! Many boast they're my world. I want to have them over all the time as ones home now becomes a dump off , loud, crazy nursery. This one is huge, total deal breaker for men now wanting a quieter life. And there's no explaining this to women celebrating granniehood either. You're now viewed as a child hater.

Lifestyle seem to divide daters. I dated a guy who wanted a CBD, liberal drinking buddy and it wasn't comparable.

Where are these men?

Be flexible? I don't think so! If they don't care enough to do something about their appearance (you mentioned the bellys), and dressing in a cleaned up appearance way, then they are not considered. Many men become more unnactractive when older...so they have to try harder to present themselves well. Otherwise, they're out!

Malarkey! We emasculated men? NO! Feminism tried to correct the "condition" of women having to do it all because most men refused to participate even close to equally in households, even though most women worked full time outside of our homes. Women adapted to that, but men NEVER took up any slack where neverending household chores were concerned. Everything was ours to do. What is the the equivalent of emasculation when it comes to the way men treat women? And why do we not have a word for that? I believe it's because we treat women as though their egos & self esteem don't matter & they haven't. My advice to women who are now free of the "burden" of men, is to stay single, date if you like, but enjoy the freedom from the drudgery men have caused you. Have a good rest of your life. Cheers!

I agree! The words are patriarchy and misogyny. I’m not smiling unless you are attractive as well. Most men late 50’s start getting bloated and bald. Some look like they’re having twins or triplets. Old grungy sneakers, ugly tee shirts. European men take much more pride in their appearance and hygiene. That’s my experience.
