I went off grid about two years ago. I have a large garden that feeds my grown children, my grandchild and my neighbors. I have ducks, chickens, rabbits and dogs. I've made growing and learning about medicinal herbs a huge priority. I've learned how to run a chainsaw and split my own firewood. I have rain water collection . Just enough solar to charge my cell phone. I hunt and fish and forage. Not bad for a single 45 year old female! :);

Thank you for helping me with your videos. I am a single mom and disabled. We were hit by a hurricane earlier this year and I lost all of our garden, two trees fell across the whole thing. I did save what I could,but I am now searching for deals on food and preserving what I can. I saved almost all of the trees since we had six that fell in our yard one on the house but saved what I could for firewood and the rest for wood to cook outside if I have to. I have never in my 50 almost 53 years have never felt this vulnerable in my whole life. I am disabled my whole back is titanium and I do whatever I can so that I don't have to look at my starving children. Please keep us in your prayers as you are in mine.

I grew up with farming relatives including my grandparents. Grandma always had a HUGE garden, a huge strawberry patch and an orchard of various kinds of fruit trees. I remember helping prepare all the foods for canning. Never actually helped her can, but Mom and i did over the years. Grandma had the outdoor cellar, we had a basement. Today, however, storage is a problem for me. No basement, no cellar. Working on finding a different solution. Thank you for all you do to help learn and understand survival preparation, worldly news and giving us things to think about. God's blessings to you and your family❣️🫂

I grew up with the Pa.Dutch Amish and Mennonite, GREAT people...had youth group with a lot of them, learned how to do taffy pulls from them...I know their ways, but my Grandmother that raused me was a home canner and preserver...learned it all growing up! I can, preserve, and smoke our own meat...they DO have more than you think...but yes, they can survive with no modern convenience and THRIVE! The community is very tight and they DO know everything! They may be peaceful but they WILL protect as well! They have it all...the Amish men are VERY PROTECTIVE of their own! Dont underestimate their peace living, they DO know more than ppl think! Pray, Prepare, and Protect ❣️

Thank you so much for bringing up alternative heating! I so often try to tell people even if in Florida have something in mind, South Africia just had snow storm, you just never know. If you can have Mr. heater buddy awesome, but even candle with terra cotta planter used as mini heater take the chill off, so many ideas, tuna tins with cardboard and oil- look up varieties as alternative heaters/cooking if you need it indoors, etc I love the Amish they have water bathing canning techniques does work if you cannot pressure (to each their own) LDS, i am not but live in community that have many, they also have canning centers in which you can purchase extremely cost effective cans of dehydrated instant potatoes, carrots, apple slices, pasta, beans, rice only the carrots have 10 years shelve life, rest is 30 years. You can look up online if a canning centre near you or order online and know where they are if SHTF they are prepared and plan to help others should anything happen. Know your good neighbours.
