I've found that my chin has reacted positively to playing some calming chin music here from KZbin. It definitely helped on the 4th; the day after when people were still setting off fireworks he was freaking out at the neighbors with Roman candles in the street. I put the music on, and he immediately stopped jumping at every pop. I cant handle loud music myself, so I never have it louder than him being able to hear it from his cage.

Sometimes you will have to chase your chinchilla, especially if you have a life outside of your animals. All depends on your animals personality in my opinion, my rabbits and friends chinchillas love being chased around the carpet in a playful manner, even when I got to put them back
@kinnoyu84483 жыл бұрын
Whenever I'm home I'll pull his cage close and open it up to the bed while I do whatever on it. He'll usually stay and sleep in his cage for 20 minutes, come out and bounce around for 10 minutes, then go back in, sleep, and repeat 😂

I hope you get over your cold (or allergies) soon! I haven't commented in a while. Busy summer. I've lots to tell about my experience with our second chin... One must not assume that all chins have the same disposition. Our female is feisty and squirmy, but she roams free better and will go back in her cage on her own.

Hi ally ! How are you? Ok I have a question my chinchilla turned 1 on Sunday last week and maybe next year I'm thinking maybe go get her to be bred,I tried to see any information if anything wrong will happen if I won't get her to be bred, so will she be aggressive if I won't get her to be bred?(like bunnies) our family friend has a bunny and they said that bunnies will get aggressive if they won't get bred is that also true to chinchillas? I tried to look for information like that on Google etc but I can't find any. Hopefully to see you reply soon Lots of love Julia.
@AllysAnimalAntics3 жыл бұрын
Hi Julia, female chinchillas do not get more aggressive if you don't breed with them, their temperament is pretty steady, they may get aggressive with a male if you try to pair them up but more to do with their personalities. Does your chinchilla have a pedigree? if you don't have a pedigree it would be too risky to breed with her as chinchillas can have a lot of hidden hereditary health. There are no benefits in breeding chinchillas in terms of temperament . Hope that makes sense 🙂

@@AllysAnimalAntics hi ally! Thank you so much for the reply sorry if I'm late, I will speak to my vet if my chinchilla has any healthy issues but I'm 97% sure she is healthy but just in case I will still speak with them! Amy is usually calm and crazy or even lazy so I'm sure her personality is good. Thank you so much for the help!!!! Lots of love Julia P.s. sorry if my earlier comment made no sense haha good night ( if you live in the UK) or have a nice day :-) can't wait for more videos!

@@AllysAnimalAntics I want to buy two females and getting them fixed. I having them not fixed ever an option for them if two females are together? Do they get really stinky like female hamsters do?
@AllysAnimalAntics3 жыл бұрын
@@christinet638Hi, there's no need to get the females fixed if you are not putting them with a male 🙂. They can live perfectly happy together without being spayed, they don't really have aggressive behaviour like rabbits and there are no health benefits to getting them spayed. ( Sometimes two females don't get along, but that's more to do with personality of the chinchillas) Spaying is a really risky operation for a chinchilla and is completely unnecessary unless you want to keep a male with them. Even if you did want to keep a male with them it's far better to get the male neutered than spaying the female as it's a less intrusive operation. If you get two females that are already bonded they will generally like happy together forvthrvrest of their lives. Chinchillas urine does smell but not a strong as hamsters mice and rats
