Im glad they dont like the heat cause neither do i, also i’ve seen a lot of people having them just around their house, can they be allowed to just be out and about. Obviously supervised! Absolutely fantastic, detailed and informative to the max. Makes me think I should be sat here with a pen and paper taking notes. One thing I’ve definitely decided is I’m going to take 2-4 weeks building play pens and runs for them before I buy them. I’m quite the woodworker (more in building guitars but I’m sure a lot of those skills are quite transferable. Thank you for preparing me so well for my newest family members moving in. I’m really looking forward to it.

I'm surprised how little my chinchilla sheds. I am endlessly cleaning dust and poop but not hair. I let her out to play every evening and she is trained to get back in her cage herself, because she gets a half of one of those shredded wheat pieces. Shredded wheat and apple sticks are her jam.

It's called Brytin Silver Surfer Chinchilla Exercise Wheel, Silver Surfer by Brytin. It costs 99.89$ as of today...normal retail price 120.35$. And I said 16" diameter which is incorrect. It is 14" diameter which is the smallest size acceptable for chinchillas...it is an aluminum wheel. Item number 236636 for anyone that cannot find it. I personally don't have it but I know a few people that do. I personally think it is over priced... I have gotten all 7 of my chinchilla wheels from pandamonium pets on etsy.

Chin Villain I absolutely love pandamonium pets. As you know buying appropriate and safe chinchilla supplies is rather costly. I have only made 50 of my numerous ledges I have in all my cages lol. I have spent right around a grand (probably more) per cage haha... 😂

I know this is an old video but hopefully you can offer some help. I have 2 male chins, and they chew up EVERYTHING!!! I’ve tried to give them wooden shelves and hides and they demolish all of it. 😅 To top it off, their cage reeks of pee a few hours after changing it. I’m hesitant to add a litter box because they destroy everything else. I love them but maaaan they’re a full time job. 😖😂

What kind of bedding should you put in the litter box area?

I would use either pine or Aspen wood chips. Avoid anything that expands when wet. I would also add a few blades of hay and some bedding that is already saturated to encourage them to use the litterbox. I have also seen people disinfect a larger smoothe stone and place that in the middle of the litter box. This also encourages them to use the litter box. They like it cuz it's something to squat on kinda like how a toilet is for us Haha.

I LOVE these waterbottles cuz they are easy to refill and they are usually no leak! I use to get them from JouetPets on Etsy but they changed the shipping location range due to the pandemic, but i found another etsy store with them called MeowChin www.etsy.com/listing/771156378/glass-top-fill-water-bottle-no-drip As for them figuring out how to use, it took a couple days. So what I did was I placed the new water bottle in the same spot as the old one so they would associate the location with water. But also i added the old bottle into the cage incase they couldnt figure it out just in a new location.

Is paper bedding safe for chinchillas?

Paper bedding is actually not safe since it expands when it gets wet. So if they ingest the bedding it could expand in their stomachs and cause a blockage which is fatal. Many people, even on KZbin, suggest that you can use it if you have enough toys in the cage to preoccupy them, but this is false. Your chinchilla will still at some point put the bedding in their mouth regardless of how many other accessories they could be chewing on, and it only takes one time for it to go wrong. So it is better to be safe than sorry and use either aspen, pine, fleece, or tile!

just a little not plastic water bottles do house more bacteria and can be harder to clean because they are like bad bacteria and possible mold incubators so glass bottles are always the better option

Hmmm... not really sure. Could possibly be out of boredom or he just generally likes doing it. Maybe try getting a guard or a different water bottle?

Hii! I was wondering if you have this problem to, my chinchilla has a smaller cage and somehow poop gets outside of the cage (like piles) and I have no clue how to keep that from happening Edit: oh and do you have any tips money wise? Because I'm only 12 and can't find anything cheaper but still good quality

They make poop gards which is wood that attaches to the walls of the cage to keep the poop in. They also will make shelves with poop guards to help with this as well. You can find them on Etsy or DIY them.

I think you might be talking about the difference between the Ferrent Nation cage and the Critter Nation cage. Both of these option work great. The only main difference is the Critter nation has horizontal bars and the bar spacing is smaller.
