I bought the CX-90 Turbo-S Premium 2 weeks ago and my mirrors do adjust when you use the memory buttons, it’s just not an option for all models. I think the touchscreen is a small dislike, but in my case, I don’t dislike it at all. I enabled the touchscreen for Apple CarPlay and it’s a hassle to use. The ease and ergonomics of the knob is preferable to me and more safe. I 💯 agree with the lack of storage though! That console leaves much to be desired and I can’t fit as much as I did with my 2017 CX-5. Barely anything at all! I noticed that you don’t have I-Stop on your CX-90. On my model, that is one thing I hate, and have to disable every time I turn the car on. It’s just annoying having the car turn off when you stop then have a lag when it starts again. I have a couple other dislikes, but definitely nothing big enough to make me regret my purchase!

Everyone dislikes the lack of touchscreen but it's smart cause it's less distracting and longevity was thought of in cold climate like us in Canada. I like the dial.
@nickcef510
@nickcef510 10 ай бұрын
Less distracting? How do you figure? Turn the wheel and follow the cursor along the screen with your eyes until you reach the icon that you want to click on (using Google maps or Waze) instead of just one look, one tap. Besides, touch is included for Android Auto/Carplay on higher trims, though. That's just nickel and diming on Mazda's part. Not including it in general, that's just a really dumb business decision in 2033. In this crazy market , I had put deposits on several vehicles, and this was the first to arrive. Given the choice, I wouldn't have purchased it based on this alone. Also, given the size of this vehicle, cargo capacity is atrocious, as is leg and shoulder room compared to anything else in it's size class. As soon as I can get my hands on the Grand Highlander, this one is being traded. Don't get me wrong, there are many things that I like about it, but I can't get past having my eyes on the screen following that stupid cursor around, and the lack of space.

@@nickcef510 yeah I bought the signature mhev. Mhev seems like a meme, but whatever. I disagree with almost all of his nitpicks here. I love it with one exception. The vehicle whines way too much about safety. It'll bark at me to be in 10 and 2. It'll beep at me pulling up to any drive through cause it doesn't like how close I am. I tried turning these things off but doesn't seem like you can for most things. However, I'm sure it won't be long before someone cracks the infotainment and I'll hack it just like I did my last Mazda.
@nickcef510
@nickcef510 9 ай бұрын
@@arkeo5467 Yeah, I agree with you on the nitpicks. The safety nannies are not as intrusive on mine. 10 and 2? Really? That would drive me nuts, too. Lots of people have suggested that Mazda uses the same central screen on all the trims but disables the touchscreen on lower trims. I do hope that that's the case and someone figures out how to hack that. I drive rentals on a semi regular basis, and have always quickly adapted to the car's infotainment system, as most are quite intuitive and all feature touchscreens. This one isn't well thought out.

Among the negative points listed in this publication, one for me is the lack of storage around the console. If I ever buy the Mazda CX-90, it will be the base model in Canada, the GS or maybe wait for the CX-70 as I don't really need the third row. 🤔

I have a 2021 Calligraphy right now, your lack of storage space is due to the online 6 and the transmission. I believe an ok trade off to get that dominate rear wheel drive. My counsel is very deep and seems to fill up with crap and I can never find anything anyway and the space under my council collects it also, mostly filled up with my wife’s stuff. I’m considering the cx90 this spring but want to see what the deal is going to be on the cx70 coming out late this year. I also have those plastic ledges under the door, their purpose is to keep that road dirt off of the body where your legs / pants would rub while getting in or out. Mine are at a little bit more of an angle but still collect dirt, which is kind of their purpose and it does work well so I have gotten into the habit of rinsing them off. The winter car wash I use seems to do a good job of that, must have some spray nozzles stregically placed for that reason.

I bought the PHEV GT (highest trim level available in Canada for the PHEV).A big disappointment for me is that you can't tell the vehicle to save the full electric range for later and drive it in regular hybrid mode. You can select EV mode to have it drive on battery alone, but if you select the Normal mode, it still defaults to full electric 90 plus percent of the time, including driving at highway speeds when you're depleting the battery quickly because the battery electric mode is less efficient at high speeds. Basically after charging the battery, He will always deplete the battery during the first part of your drive. Most plug-in hybrids give you the option to save that battery power until later.
@premiumoctane93
@premiumoctane93 10 ай бұрын
I think you can trick it into gas only if you hit the battery save button next to the shifter, you will have to go into settings to set this to 100% then it will save the battery for later use. Still a big inconvenience.

@@premiumoctane93 Yes, I've done that, however, recharging the battery / keeping the battery charged using the engine likely increases fuel consumption.... Remember, the hybrid system is designed to regenerate a certain amount of power to keep it operating as a hybrid. If you ask the system to regenerate more power to keep the battery pack fully charged in addition to operating as a hybrid vehicle, it likely needs to work harder.

5 years with a CX-90 and I haven't used the touchscreen since the first day. It is just too far from you. That whole "future will be hand gestures on screens" that Minority Report suggested was never going to happen. It is much more convenient to use a mouse or a wheel than reach out your arm 2 feet and poke at a screen - with your hand blocking half of it.

As I also ordered the PHVE GT, here is my thought on the 5 dislikes. 1. In Canada, the mirror links with the seat memory on the GT trim. 2. Yes, I hate that as well, it is not a touchscreen. The same size screen on the Inline 6 trims is a touchscreen but not provided on PHEV. 3. Shifter is fine, just takes time to get used to it. 4. Storage is not a big concern to me. 5. I will have the OEM mud guards installed in front and rear as I found dirt also exists on my Subaru at the same spot. And there is another missing feature that I really need is the Lane Centering Assist or Cruising & Traffic Support, this feature is only available on the top two Inline 6 trims.
