Shawnta, I just thank God for you and your channel. I had a HUGE setback at the beginning of this month, where my hair started falling out in CLUMPS on the right side of my head ONLY! I panicked, I cried and told me daughter that I didn’t know where to begin to trouble shoot the problem, much less correct the issue??? That’s when my daughter asked, what did I do initially to get started on my journey and I told her that it started when I found your channel! She asked me if your hair was flourishing and I made her aware that you went from waist length to tailbone in 6 months, that your hair and skin was ridiculously healthy [lol] so she looked at me and said “Mom, you just answered your own question”! With all that said, I went back thru a bunch of your videos, found the one titled “10 reasons your hair isn’t growing”, and that’s when I realized that I AM anemic and had my doctor test my levels and sure enough, my iron was BELOW THE FLOOR! 😂 He increased my dosages, I started following your wash day, deep conditioning and growth oil routines TO THE LETTER and almost INSTANTLY, my shedding stopped and my hair is now regrowing, oh and the best part is that MY CURLS HAVE RETURNED!!! Thank you SO MUCH baby for loving your viewers so much so, that you wanted to invite us into your life and journey(s) to help us to become our best selves ❤️ And give Noriah a big ole hug from Ms. Ty. I honestly can’t wait to see the amazing young woman she’s going to be because she has one HECK of a role model! Happy New Year ☺️
@maryapatterson6 жыл бұрын
Its not just anaemia. Alot of black women who have heavy peroids or have conditions like Endometriosis, its important to make sure that your iron levels are not low since it causes hair loss and shedding. Anybody who is doing veganary or is changing over to be a vegan. It is vital that you take care of your iron, B12 and folate along with your protein. Any lack of these can cause hair shedding and loss.If I have left anythiing out , please add.Ta.
@tyl.33966 жыл бұрын
Doreen Patterson You’re absolutely correct, but for me, it was just my iron! I’m on prescription B12, Folic Acid, Calcium and Vitamin D! In addition, I’m a medically supervised High Protein diet. I’ve had a total hysterectomy many years ago, so that’s why I had my levels checked! I suffer from Megaloblastic Anemia, so the strength of iron that I was on, was simply not enough!

Your username alone is telling someone what ur issue is...she’s talking about topical tips only in this video..more importantly is actually technique (meaning treating your hair very gently especially the ends) and DIET..eating healthy fully makes a big difference and trumps everything she discussed
@rikanejose26115 жыл бұрын
@@pizzalover4456 I realized going to the hair salon is a disadvantage. They don't use good product for your hair (eventhough they lie and say that they do). If you go to hair salon, they will most likely use cheap product to either break your hair or stop it from growing to the full extinct. It's better to do your own hair in a regular basis. You should visit hair salon very rarely. Believe me you, after I stopped going to the hair salon and start doing my own hair, my hair grew 4inches in 38days.

If you are not mixed, you aren't period. Please be proud of who you are and where you are from. There is nothing to "figure it out" Most people assume that African slave descendants suppose to look the same. Gee imagine if every person in Asia looked the same. The problem is people are influenced by what they see in the media. In Africa we have thousands of tribes that all have completely different facial features, hair types, nose shape, eye shape, heck there is a tribe that looks completely Chinese facial features in Africa. The white media call them "Bushman tribe". All in all the worst thing you would do is go on these bogus websites for DNA and try to tell you what you are "Mixed with" The only thing that DNA is telling you is who is your mother, your father or siblings. That's all. It doesn't tell you where your grand parents comes from or his family came from.

Another GREAT video Shawnta! The singularly most important thing I drew from the tips on this video is: HEALTH FROM THE INSIDE MATTERS! I agree with it all you said--most especially investing in high-quality oils for the hair and scalp. A lot of naturalistas want the quick answers to "popping" curls (i.e. - tons of perfumed hair products) but, don't want to seriously invest in keeping the "pop" in their curls by practicing good health. Healthy hair comes from within not from a jar. Thanks so much for smart, sound, healthy advice on how to honor my body in order to be my best self! Ms. ECstreet :)

I straightened my hair for the first time last October since early November 2013, and had it trimmed, so my hair is back to retaining length like it did back in 2014. I use Jamaican Mango & Lime Pure Jamaican Black Castor Oil Lavender, but want to try Rooted Treasure Jamaican Black Castor Oil. My hair is back to having layers once I had it trimmed last October, and I think last year, I might have trimmed it to much since I keep dealing with excessive shedding, but my hair was retaining length. My hair was bra strap length when I had it straightened last October, but I know that it could have been longer if I had been able to get it trimmed in a natural hair salon at least twice last year. I'm just happy that it's healthy again. I've been deep conditioning since May 2013, and even when I needed a trim, so I believe that deep conditioning my hair 95% of the time since then has really helped my hair even when I needed a trim. I've been doing the LCO method since late May 2013, since the LOC method didn't work for me. I hope to be midback length soon, and reaching closer to waist length by the end of 2018.

Don't isolate yourself. There are people who have been through what you might be facing right now and they overcame it. Don't push people away, surround yourself with people who are spiritually mature and get the help that you need. Isolation when you are in pain and don't know if there's a way out is dangerous and that's why we have suicide cases. Listen, there's nothing that you can be facing that God is not able to solve for with God nothing is impossible. Hold on. Jesus loves you.

No heat/limited heat usage was the best thing for me and my hair. My curls are coming in and about 4 months ago I just decided to chop off all the heat damage which was only in one section in the front. I just made a year no heat and I’m going another year without flat ironing. I do use heat to deep condition from time to time but not often

One day I said I was going to do a braid out instead of going to the salon and it took everything in me to not turn left to go to my hairdresser. I suffered from severe heat damage and big chopped. I’ll be 4 years heat free in May. You can do it sis!
