I also don’t like how you can’t walk up to the rear passenger doors and have them automatically unlock like you can with the front driver and passenger doors. I put stuff in the back and constantly have to go back to the driver door to hold my hand there for the back to unlock.

what about all the crap the make you subscribe for to operate? Maybe I am wrong, but it seems kinda shady to make me pay for a subscription if I wanna use the GPS navigation in a vehicle I bought that has a GPS. Do other manufacturers do this too? Wife has a 23 Grand Cherokee and I Am Pretty sure her navigation works without a subscription.

@@counterfeitcowboy1362 I had a 2022 Tacoma Nighshade in Magnetic Grey - It was a nice truck but it ended up being a lemon with battery and technology issues. It was made in peak COVID lockdown times - that is the excuse I use at least. Ended up with a white 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X after having issues with the 2022 Hybrid Grand Cherokee 4xE I traded the Tacoma for. The Canyon has been super awesome so far! 2022 was not a good year for manufacturers I guess. I am glad I bought the white Canyon before I saw the Solar Octane or I would have given Toyota another chance.

1. The automatic tailgate is beyond stupid IMO. No one is going to appreciate that except boomers with weak arms. 2. The shocks being stiff I believe may be related to your tires PSI. I'd check them and make sure they aren't over-inflated. I forgot to air-down my tires after winter, and found out they were sitting at 40 PSI, (should be 30-37 tops) Made speed bumps at the grocery store feel like driving over an IED. Aired down to 30PSI and everything was normal again. 3. Downsizing the gas tanks from 21 to 18 gals was another stupid move. Like why? To make room for the parts that power the automatic tailgate that everyone hates? Get rid of it. 4. Between the insanely high prices for bells & whistles, no gain performance, and questionably reduced reliability (maybe) with the turbo's and the transmission issues they're having out of the gate, I feel like I made the right choice buying a Gen 3 for full MSRP last year. I wasn't happy about the absolutely rude pricing or the interest rate considering my 800+ credit score. But if I bought a Gen 4 and the tranny dipped out in 5K miles I would lose my freaking mind.

lol nah just one of them. And it’s not even that it’s expensive (which it is) but just that they package things so you have to get stuff you don’t necessarily want. I will say tho, now that I’ve had the truck a few months, some of the stuff I didn’t want is actually kind of nice😂
@lawrenceison3947 ай бұрын
Sure you have more power, but at the potential cost of reliability...and not better mileage.
@private45466 ай бұрын
Toyota really f’d up on these. Turbos are trash. They require lots of maintenance. They are very expensive to maintain and when they go out good luck. You’ll probably have half the power. Also that electric motor assist is just a bad idea. I give em 100k mile life before the repair costs are more than the vehicle is worth. This is a huge shame because a well maintained Tacoma of any other year will last 300k+ miles. Just another throw away vehicle. I hope I’m wrong but the signs are there.

I have on and it's easy to get 20 mpg and easily 21 if you do a lot of interstate driving. I get 19.5 around town. But this Taco is really easy to hotdog around in because that turbo is addictive. But if you drive it at the acceleration of previous models you'll easily get 20.

@@counterfeitcowboy1362 The Carista app does allow you to turn off the seatbelt chimes. Pay $10 for a month of access to advanced settings and then you can probably cancel the subscription after you've made changes if you're not going to use all the other features. You also need a compatible OBD reader. Carista has theirs but it's a bit limited in it's compatibility with other vehicles. I have an OBDLink LX, which is more expensive but works with the Carista app as well as many other apps, for example one that works with my BMW motorcycle. Android user BTW so can't speak to how Apple works with these products. As for the seatbelt chime, you can turn off each seatbelt individually, for example you can turn off just the front seats and leave the rear seatbelt chimes working. I was also able to change other settings, for example have the touch to change lanes turn signal function from 3 flashes to 4. Also turned off the fake engine sounds...
