Have a 2021 highlander V6 and it runs amazing more reliable than that 4 cylinder turbo

I just bought one. The sports bar is cheap and rattles. The roof rack is causing this thing to shake and vibrate violently on the freeway. The bed is warped because it’s plastic. Electrical problems. Interior ticks and rattles like you wouldn’t believe. There’s no storage. 380 miles and it’s sitting in the shop. It also gets 14 mpg. Cheap plastic interior just like my 24 sequoia did. My jeep gladiator Mojave was significantly better. Toyota……. You need to do much better for how much you’re charging.

I was set on the Corolla Cross, until I found out that it has a smaller motor that will have to work harder, and it has no spare tire and a shrimpy gas tank only 40 litres of capacity. That's no bueno! Unless and until Toyota puts at least a 50 litre tank , I'm out and will probably just buy a Rav 4 hybrid.

People don’t realize how much stuff that was extra in the previous gen 3 comes standard in the 2024 SR; this is why it’s a price increase.

1:42 I just traded in my 22 trd sport with 2” factory lift and larger tires and we parked my 24 trd sport hybrid right beside one another and they were the exact same height. Even the salesman couldn’t believe it

That’s awesome! Crazy to hear that they were the same size but I believe it. When I went from my 22 sr5 to my 24 offroad, the 24 felt like a half ton in comparison. And the hybrid has a taller tire than mine

Very good looking SUV it's so smart and modern. Ideal for the UK roads because they are smaller than roads in the US also it will fit into a parking space easily, it's such a good modern looking SUV even better than more expensive makes, you may pay more but you gain by getting more milage per gallon. 3:50

If you keep your cars a long time, you should do a break in oil change at 500 miles or 1,000 miles. Then you can change oil every 4 or 5K. I have heard of debris being left in Toyota engines because there were early failures I know of. Especially the non Japanese engines. My 2tr-fe engine was made in Japan then assembled into the rare 4 cylinder Tacoma I bought in 2022. But I still changed the oil at 1,000 miles in case of debris.

I hope that you did a break-in oil change around 1k miles too. That drain plug looks odd as it's not at the bottom of the pan. It will leave old oil in it on every oil change and any debris in the bottom of the pan won't drain out. Very odd indeed. Also always pre-fill your oil filter as it helps build oil pressure faster.

To pull from what another crator or comment said, a 2024 turbo engine isn't a 1984 turbo engine. Manufacturers arent just slapping a turbo on a motor that isnt meant to have one. They have the proper internals to handle it. Toyota has also been conservative on the power figures their turbo motors are putting out and theres likely room to grow in the aftermarket. It's likely that Toyota does this specifically for better reliability. People just want to complain but have never actually driven one to see the improvements in responsiveness over the previous generation. Do yourself a favor and test drive the new power plant and the hybrid version and then make a fair comparison. But it's a fair assumption that Toyota's engineers know a fair bit more about what theyre doing than your average keyboard mechanic in the KZbin comment section. As for me, im giving Toyota the benefit of the doubt. If theres a major priblem, thats ehat my warranty is for. Picking up a TRD Off Road with premium package this weekend

People need to understand that the swap from v6 to turbo i4 is for EMISSIONS!!! Trucks get heavier and weaker for emissions and crash testing. We are going past the golden age of fuel injection combustion engines into a dark age. 😢
@wildcatnipАй бұрын
Well we won't have to worry much longer once Trump dismantles the EPA. The only issue after we revert back to the V6 is how to bring back manufacturing to the US from Mexico.

I just bought the bronze wheels from the trailhunter for my trd off road. Paired with some a/t4w tires, I can’t wait to see how it’s gonna look! I really like the bronze contrast with the white paint. I may end up needing some slightly wider fender flares, but I think rough country makes some OEMish looking ones that will fit nicely.
@counterfeitcowboy1362Ай бұрын
That will look sick! I like a little offset so I wouldn’t even get bigger flares. I’d just run it😂
@kevinbradley8613Ай бұрын
@@counterfeitcowboy1362 it’s about an inch of poke, but it might not be too bad. Mostly concerned with kicking up rocks and whatnot. I already swapped out the original exhaust for the axle dump and I’m appreciating the extra room for activities in the back. The OEM one was about $100 shipped… well worth it

I got a Limited! I'd like to lift it somewhat, maybe 2.5 inches to 3 inches. To get rid of the gravel throwing Michellin SST tires. They're chipping up my rear fender flares. Then go with a set of Toyo Open County III AT 6-ply tires. On the stock rims! I don't wanna be cutting or taking off the crash bars. I've seen a couple of videos on KZbin. Where Carl Malone Toyota in Utah has used both the Readylift 2.5 and 3 inch SST lifts. I called them the other day. Asked them if there were any issues with the AVS. They said no! Also, they said I could put 285/70r18s on the truck using the stock rims without any issues. What's your opinion on this? Thanks for any advice.....
@counterfeitcowboy1362Ай бұрын
I think you should be ok with the lifts Karl Malone has used. We did a limited the other day and I think it was a ready lift. It looked awesome! As for your fenders idk if there’s any way around that. If you go watch my 2700 mile update video, I talk about the fenders getting chewed up. I did put some own sliders on after that video and I do notice a lot less rocks hitting the truck.

A very good video. I'm torn between the CCH XSE and the Rav4 hybrid XSE. I want them fully loaded as this will be my car for the next 10 years. You are correct, it's about $8k difference. Or $2.19 a day difference spread out over 10 years. What I like about the CCH: smaller size that is easier to maneuver in city traffic and parking lots. And the better fuel economy. What I don't like is the lack of a spare tire and the rear seats not completely folding flat. What I like about the Rav4 hybrid: has a spare tire, rear seats fold down flatter, still gets very good fuel economy. Has more features and options such as a 10.5" display, 12.3" gauge cluster, panoramic view monitor, digital rear view mirror. And has more interior room.
