I've owned my 2017 Granturismo Sport for 5 years now and have had absolutely zero issues with it. As a long-time owner of multiple new and vintage Porsches (4 911s (2 Turbos), 2 928s, Boxster S, etc, I can only say that the GT has far exceeded not only my expectations of the Maserati brand, but has also beaten the reliability of most of the best from Stuttgart. These are absolutely amazing automobiles, and the Pininfarina looks combined with the sounds of that 4.7 V8 are at the very pinnacle of all automobiles IMHO.

I bought a GranTuriamo 4.7 S three years old with an extended Maserati warranty - did I ever need or use the warranty NO. I had the car for 3 years, took it all over Europe, never broke down once and was 100% reliable. Just standard servicing and consumables. Happy when I sold on to the next chap who has also enjoyed trouble free driving in it. Ok it is more expensive to service that my 911 but I knew that before I bought it. FWIW o lost £10k off the value of the car in the 3 years I owned it. Get a PPI because it’s the delayed maintenance that’s gonna kill you with these cars. The engine is basically bullet proof so no worries there

Along with many other German cars, I have had both the 4.2 and currently the 4.7 GTS.. Hand on heart I love the thing. The whole experience is great. Such a beautiful design - It has presence but not it an ostentatious way.. Classy when I arrive at weddings, cool when I go to coffee and cars. Not many cars can pull that dual personality off. Some of the things I like besides the exterior design is obviously the sound, the 4.7 has the sports exhaust with active valves, sounds incredible. Weird but I love the weight distribution, something like 48%F 52%R, allows it to just pivot around you in such a predictable way you wouldn't believe it handles the way it does given it's perceived size. That brings me onto the Skyhook active suspension, its great. Out of sport its supple and rides like a GT, in sport, damping firms up, you notice all the small bumps and undulations in the road and bodyroll is next to none. Sound system is good once you plug in a good Bluetooth 5.0+ receiver as it has a Subwoofer in the parcel shelf that thumps! The 2013 onwards GTS models have 6 pot Brembo brakes up front which give the stopping grunt a car of this power and weight deserves. I also agree with you on the smell. That rich leather smell which you don't really get anymore always get the "Smells expensive in here" comment. The paddles are the best I've ever used, with proper haptic feedback and fixed to the column like they should be in any driver's car. (Although they took away the rubber on the back of the paddle on my newer car which is on the early models like the one in the video- felt nice was a bit disappointed by that) A rarely talked about feature is the buttons on the back of the steering wheel which control the infotainment, genius! (Up, down, select) I wish there was a "Back" though. I didn't buy it for a daily driver so i don't care much about the infotainment system.. It plays music. Job done. The real music is on when I turn the stereo off, get the windows down and open the throttle! The best thing by far though is sheer joy on people's faces after hearing a down shift. Nice review, some points I stand by but some would be solved by having a newer car and some by a better maintained car. I did like the comment about wireless charging though- I don't think my phone even had wireless charging in 2007 when that thing was released 😂 Anyway all the best to any current and future owners of these wonderful cars 🔱❤

2014 car, much more reliable than my 2015 Porsche 991.1GTS4, and believe it or not it better to drive too. Also comes without the £60K engine repair bill that a big AMG will incur. Infotainment system is shit, but a decent aftermarket touchscreen solves that issue. Swap out Skyhook for some Formula Dynamics coilovers and sway bars for better ride and handling. Front subframes can rust in wetter climates, but not the end of the world, just factor it into the costs. Best car I’ve ever owned, including various Porsches, BMWs, Mitsubishis, and even a TVR. So bang on with this review. I just swapped a manual AM Vantage Roadster 2014 for a 2018 Maserati GranTurismo MC. I would like to think two of the prettiest cars of the “modernish” era. I was surprised by the build quality, I was expecting it to be much higher more in the vein of AM and Ferrari. I would say the AM was a far better put together car and felt more “premium” inside. I would also say it’s definitely more reliable. So why did I change. Needed something a little more up to date and wanted more seats that fit humans in. The car since buying it has pretty much been in Maserati more than I’ve had it to drive. All electrical gremlins. So my patience is starting to get a little frayed with it. However, the moment I do drive it, as you say at 20 mins or so, to drive, it’s lovely. The sound, the way the engine revs all of that melts away those issues. I wish the car was 2-300kg’s lighter. I think that would really let it dance a bit. Certainly help with the brakes which can feel a little overexerted sometimes. I said to my dad, if they could put the Maserati power train / running gear in the Aston it would have been awesome! The lazy nature of the AM engine let it down a little but you could fix that with lightweight fly wheels etc but it still wasn’t as rev happy as the Maserati. Hoping to have it back soon so I can actually enjoy the car a bit. Any more issues though I’m not sure what I’m gonna do with it. It’s a shame because it does feel like you’ve got 80% of a Ferrari for used BMW M car money.
@maserati0012Ай бұрын
Stop taking it to Maserati they don't have a clue what's going on take it to Ferrari they have all the electrical wiring since they built the engine and schematics and they have the tools to fix your issue the first time without costing a arm and leg. I went to Maserati with my 2013 Maserati Granturismo Sport and they said they didn't know what was wrong I took it to Ferrari and they knew what the problem was and didn't over charge me and I haven't had any issues in over a year that I've had the car.

So many of the regular gremlins are resolved via this method, it appears to me.

Surely the Mazza GT to get is the series one 3200GT with the boomerang rear lights. Just a lot nicer to look at, much more analogue, twin turbo V8 with a conventional auto or manual. And plenty of parts shared with other Fiat/Alfa products of the era so much less expensive to repair/replace. Plus they are now available for under $35k. But the series one is the only choice - the rear cluster on the S2 looks like a DIY restyle using bits off a 280ZX.

To the guy at the start of this video in saying that Mas GTS is not a Ferrari...well no one is saying this car is a Ferrari...what we are saying is, the engine was designed and built Ferrari and the MC shift which is a single clutch paddleshift is the same gearbox Ferrari uses in the F430...I own a 2011 Mas GTS with MC Shift and I have had no problems with it..and it's a beautiful exotic coupe that is fun to drive with luxury and space and it has a Ferrari V8 Growl..

A 5th gen Quattroporte down the road would be a good review. "Interesting" interiors in those things too.

the 'what's it like to drive' segment was so funny I laughed out loud. This is when you start watching these reviews not only for the cars themselves but for Adam too. Honestly it is accurate to say that the Maserati sounds like that girl who's beautiful but high maintenance.

You guys should do a ZC33S Swift Sport review. It's been out for a while and might be getting a new model

Better buy Corvette/Viper if you search for a weekend RWD car.

Drove a Ghibli before(not mine luckily), I have to admit the V6 V8 sound good, and, the pros end there ;-) Can't believe the interior is for Maserati... Feels like Jeep or Chrysler... When things go wrong, owners may need to pay Maserati tax for the same Jeep/Chrysler parts ;-)

I just ransacked my house looking for the smoke detector with the low battery beep, and I came to realize, it's the mechanics smoke detector! LOL XD

Is it just me but the high window sill would bug me, no end. I know it is a safety thing but I don't like it - still like to be able to rest the elbow on the sill occasionally - especially with that engine note to listen to.
