First one just hits home.. As a 2011 WK2 Overland owner I wouldn't doubt my GC's capability, but at some point when I'm on the trail my one or two wheels will always be in the air, articulation isn't the car's strong point. Incredible 4WD system but still wish they had kept the solid rear axle for this gen

Great video sir. Your channel was one of the first ones I found when I got my first wk2 and I definitely made my own version of the rola rack based off of yours. You hit the nail on the head on the 5 things with the Jeep. I’d add the roof weight rating is lacking, it should hold more that 150lbs stock in my opinion. Keep up the good work.

I agree with the limitations on lift kits. 2.5 is not very much and they are very expensive for the higher quality ones. I own a Ford Bronco from the 80s and a BDS 4-inch lift cost as much as a 2.5 leveling kit for my WK2. That's why I'm leaving it stock I'll just put the money into the Bronco.

Nice rig but..... If you wanted that, you should not have started with the budget WKII. The Trailhawk has everything.. almost.. that you need. You did a nice job on the build with accessories but you can only get so much blood out of a turnip. Have you added up the difference in sticker? Regardless, you have done a great job. My bottom line is, I bought the WKii Trailhawk, cuz I wanna pass Rubies doing 85 on the freeway to get to the trail.

The thing I hate about my grand Cherokee is everytime I turn around I'm having to spend $100 here and $200 there and recently I had to spend $500 for an alternator, and that's just for parts because I do the repairs myself. The bad thing is the alternator wasn't bad, but Chrysler trying to be cheap, instead of installing a keyway on the alternator, they just pressed on the pulley and it was spinning around the alternator shaft and not turning the alternator. Two weeks later now I have a clicking from the back of the vehicle!! So now I'm going to have to spend $100s more dollars for another repair! I can't make it 2 weeks without something breaking on this jeep. I love the vehicle, but it's turned into a money pit and parts are entirely too expensive!! I bought this jeep used with under 100,000 miles on it and I've only put 35000 miles on it and spent thousands in repairs to keep it on the road.

The last three years I’ve put 38,000 miles on it and almost $25,000 in repairs later from water pump, radiator, transfer case, control arms, ball joints, blend door, ac compressor etc

@TRAILTROOPER3 жыл бұрын
Not true. You’re going to get 4low but everything else still applies on every trim level. In fact when you get the upgraded models it usually will have the bigger brakes meaning you can’t even run a 17” wheel. Your still going to have to add aftermarket skid plates, aftermarket support doesn’t change and lack of lift option still applies. In fact with the Trailhawk, summit and overland you’re going to have to backtrack and remove all the air suspension because at some point it’s going to fail and the plain fact is OR2 is completely useless for functionality

@TRAILTROOPER3 жыл бұрын
These WK2’s are impossible to regear anyways. The front diff isn’t serviceable. Honestly a 32” tall tire is your best option for a good balance of size without compromising too much of your power

Bummer. Sounds like buyer's remorse a bit...had you bought into a higher model (Trailhawk) from the get-go, a lot of your concerns go away. You can always upgrade! Your rig looks great and is probably worth a decent enough penny to make a jump to a more well-optioned model fairly trivial. My #1 issue is Jeep simply doesn't make a model optioned well-enough with standard suspension. Air suspension is shit but I cant get cooled seats and premium audio in a LimitedX which is the most premium model without air suspension you can get. I've had a 2012 Summit, 2013 overland and now on the fence on what to do...i want a lift so bad but the air suspension really is going to have to be completely torn-out and replaced with a OME right off the bat. Paying 40K for a car just to rip out the suspension HURTS. I want the options of a Summit with the $5K leather package (its sooo nice!) but with the look of yours. I guess only money will do it :\ I really, really really wish Jeep would allow standard suspension on their premium models - nothing but problems with the air suspension on both 2012 and 2013 models i had.
