To summarize his opinions: 1. Leather is cheap and peals/sticky over time. 2. Front vent fan controls do not have buttons. 3. Expensive oil changes with 9.5 quarts of oil 4. Spark plugs are hard to get to. 5. Many expensive control arms with complicated suspension.

except the leather ISNT cheap sticky and peals. Look at the car he is in. NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. Its awd with a magnificent gearbox. And a hybrid cooling system. So oooohhh a few hundred per year for oil to maintain a $150K usd when new car. That will NEVER break down. He didnt mention it has double glazed glass and around 400kw and 800nm. Im using metric like literally 99% of the rest of the world. Cant help it if merca is backwards

Love my 07 LS460L with the executive package. Took advantage of the interior recall and received all new panels. Had the brake actuator, all control arms and front struts replaced in 10 years of driving. I've driven my LS460L 150,000 miles and it still rides like its floating on clouds.

I didn’t get it done, the previous owner took it to the dealership and gave them the vin and they took care of it. That was years ago, you should call your local dealer and see if they still offer the warranty.

It’s not the control arms that go bad. It just the rubber bushings inside them that do. How Lexus screwed that up, i have no idea. Perhaps it was the same issue as with their sticky dashboards.

😂😂 yeah, they really screwed the pooch on most of the Lexus vehicles of this time but they’re doing a lot better now.

LOVE my ls600. Battery still good at 225k. The dr. prius guys have a lithium ion battery swap that's half the weight and double the capacity.Not hoping it goes out anytime soon, but when it does... good video

Thank you! It’s an amazing car and the battery has at least 500k miles total life span, if I had to guess but mine is almost at 200k.

The leather dash was not the issue, it was the dashboard with the soft touch synthetic materials would become tacky. You have the leather dash option which was not recalled. I have the same car. Also, the steering wheel issue is something different. that is simply the leather coating and any upholsterer can redo the leather dye and coating

Okay the A/C complaint is kinda silly. Using the automatic feature is the best feature anyway that’s the whole point of it but whatever I guess to each it own.

I just like having buttons for everything rather than going through a menu system.

Except when on Auto the AC is always on. I like to turn off AC compressor when it's not needed. I also like fan circulating on higher than the lowest setting.

I did the same had bushing pressed out pressed in lasted only few months broke again. The design is just horrible you need to get the 2013-2017 control arms to avoid the problem u can use those on thr 2007-2012s

I believe your interior is in good condition, because the hybrid version is real leather for the dash and door panels instead of the melting plastic.

Yeah, my interior for the most part looked almost new. It would make sense if they did replace it though. The last person to own it was a limo service.

FYI the LS460 2010 like mine has AWD or RWD available.and my interior drivers seat and driver door armrest are damaged. Great Video!

The price for oil changes is not really related to the car. It just take 9.5 quarts of oil then you add filter and labor reasonable charge.

Your oil changes in price depends on your mechanic shop,I own a 2007 Lexus 460 L with the exec package,my car use 9 quarts of oil for the change with the filter and I pay 75 dollars so I’m getting a good deal compared to others

There is an updated head unit out there and you can update the current one but it is about $500 for that software.

you bought a 5.0 liter car, and you are mad because of the oil volume changing it ? xD you are a silly guy. this is a luxury car with luxury features, of course it's harder to maintain than a 4 cylinder Suzuki Swift. If I want to say 5 things what I dislike: - interior buttons are like in a toyota (should be high gloss wood) - trunk space it limited because of the batteries (both are in the rear, which is pain in the ass!) - highbeam-headlights are not strong enough for my taste - suspension system in high mode is rough for no reason and feels unsecure - only suited for lower speeds - A-pillar has a wind noise at higher speed that must be modified with an aero plate as an add-on later on I already changed big & small batteries - but both are suited for 10 more years. It is worth the cost. Love this car, I could write 100 positive things about my LS600h which says a lot.

Mine was a 2008 actually and I never had to change the battery. They last a very long time. I’ve heard 300,000-400,000 miles normally.

There’s a $1,000 option you can find online and it updates the system and also allows you to have Apple car play, Spotify, etc.. but it allows you to keep the oem head unit. I forgot what it’s called.

Ls460 has awd i have 09 ls460 some of the stuffis nit picking. Its still a more reliable vehiclethan almost anything out there

I have a 2016 ls 600hl that I bought used. It had 100k kms on it, but the hybrid battery failed and I had to get it replaced. I live in the middle east so it could be the higher heat that caused this. Other than that and a couple of control arm changes due to worn rubber (it was not that bad but I got it replaced) , the car is doing great and in showroom condition. Really love this car... Performance, comfort, audio system, the AC system all are top notch. Question.... Where's the hybrid fan filter on this car? I still haven't been able to figure this out. The dealership says that unlike the ES hybrid there is no separate hybrid fan filter for the LS. Is this true? I know that one of the main reasons for hybrid battery failure is clogged fan filter.. Hence the concern. Would appreciate your advise. There is no videos on KZbin on ls600 hl hybrid system maintenance.

I have 2 x ls600s 2008 and 2009. Interior is absolutely perfect. just like the car your in Next the ls has the best placement of buttons ever. you dont need to think. your finger will just reach out and its exactly where you want it. I have spent a grand total of $300 per year on servicing each of my cars. Again to say they are expensive to maintain is just bullsh1t. This car he is literally one of the rarest cars in the world. Try finding a 2010 - 2012 4 seater anywhere in the world. Owners buy them and never part with them. Go online and see 1000's of bentleys and Rolls. I have been looking for 8 years to find one anywhere in rhd.

I’m not sure, you’ll have to call your local dealer to find out. Tell them your interior is melting and you saw that there is a recall for it.

That *missing fan button* would *_really_* grate after a while. Heck---that would drive me nuts right away. It's one of those things that you need to access every time you use the car, and if it's only accessible from the _'climate control only'_ screen, then you can't be using any other function on the screen at the same time---another big design flaw in a lot of cars with touch screens. (It would have been so much trouble to put the fan control as a little icon at the bottom of *_every_* other screen??)

Part 2 of my comment ….. I’m a big guy so I want the L body if I get a 460, but i love the sun shades in the 600 and hate the middle console in the middle of the back seat in the 600,,, has its good and bad points ..

Not all 600’s have the solid center console in the rear, just the ones with the executive package. 600’s are super rare, especially with the executive package. This thing floats like a boat though. So comfy!

It drives amazing! One of the best cars I’ve ever owned. As far as MPG, I got about 24mpg on the highway. Best I ever got was about 30.

I have a 2015 LS 600hL and what I did not like was there was not front camera - I installed one (see link) kzbin.info/www/bejne/rperhJWkrahknLM and I bought a extended warranty 5 years or 70K whichever comes first. Other than that the car is perfect and very rare.

Yes! These cars are land yachts 😂 so big and need cameras where ever we can get them. Mine is a 2008 so the quality of the rear camera is probably worse than yours but I’m sure the new ones have all the fancy cameras we wish our cars came with.

If you replace with stock/oem air suspension then yes it’s expensive. It’s cheaper to do aftermarket air suspension and probably even cheaper to replace with regular shocks. The only problem with going with regular shocks is you’ll have a light on your dash saying the air suspension is messed up.

I threw mine on air suspension , it looks nice especially with wheels but the factory suspension is far more comfortable. I would recommend going with the data systems controller unless you want immediate results on airing out.

Stock suspension is buttery smooth, but so expensive to replace haha it’s probably safer to get rid of this suspension and go springs or aftermarket lower air ride. You’ll lose quality, like you said, but you’ll have full adjustability.

@@ShadySpectacles I see people say this ( switching to springs). That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever ever. Just find the part on the air suspension that goes bad and replace that with a better part. So if it’s leaking, just fix the leak. No need to downgrade and pay more for it too.
