I work as a decorator and designer doing wallpaper in DC and Georgetown and I actually bought a 2 door bronco badlands as a work vehicle. All the car manufacturers have discontinued their lines of city vans, leaving no compact cargo vehicles around. I took the backseats out of my 2 door, built a plywood deck for my tools and I can literally park that thing anywhere while other contractors are circling around and around the block in their f150s. Side benefit: I got a badlands so I can take it out off-roading on the weekends and the truck is a beast. Still new to it but I love the truck. By the way if I put it on Eco and drive like a grandma, I can keep the rpms around 1.6k while going 55 on the highway so I can get a comparable 22-25 mpg out of her.

The things I love most about it is how fun it is to drive. It does't drive and handle like a clunky SUV at all. It's surprisingly quick and drives great.

Check out the Ford Performance Procal Tune for the 2.7. It will help with both turbo lag and the 1st to 2nd shift. Best of all, it's a Ford Performance product and does not void your factory warranty as long as its installed by Ford dealer. It will also increase both HP And Torque.

Watching you navigate in and out of the Bronco, it would seem to me the frameless doors (no window track when the door is open) looks like a A+ item in my book. Almost like half doors when open. ❤️👍🏻🇺🇸
@eskimocheeks9911 Жыл бұрын
The only unfortunate part about that is the windows rattling every time you shut the door. The frameless windows aren't supported for a satisfying solid door close. As long as they don't rattle when you're driving I guess it's not really a big deal.

I've been debating on trading in my Tundra for a 2 door Bronco and your genuine reviews with actual user experience is making me more confident to make a purchase. I will say, seeing how much you are enjoying your 4 door I am having a hard time deciding if a 2 door is right for me, but I know I enjoy the feel of having a shorter wheel base on my daily drives. I don't think I'll ever be as dedicated to overlanding as you to need to pack my Bronco as much as you do for yourself. If I ever go out, it will likely just be for 1 night, maybe 2. Thanks for the content, it's really great stuff. Much more convincing than these knobs who give you the same reviews all the time and have only driven theirs for 500km's.
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
I think if it is just you going out, and you are willing to remove the backseat a 2 door would probably be fine. I say that not knowing at all what your packing is like for a trip, but thinking of myself, I could probably make it work. I do like having the extra space in the 4 door though. Don't have to be quite as strategic with making everything fit.
@larrybriggs2920 Жыл бұрын
I would definitely go with a 4 door. The space is well worth it.

The rough 1st-2nd shift is a Ford thing. Every Ford I've driven has done it. My dad's (then brand new) 97 Taurus even clunked when shifting from 1st to 2nd. The dealership's exact words when asked about it were "that's normal".

I've had my Bronco Bad-Sas since August. I put 16K on it since. By far the best off road out of the box thst I haver ever owned. I have had everything from Jeep to Land Cruiser. Although my land Cruiser was awesome and I miss Tituss very much, he was old 1991. Part arr scarce and expensive. Anyway, I wouldn't trade my Bronco for anything else. If you haven't done it yet, check out Bronbuster gear. What kind of cool air intake did you do? Dig your channel, keep up the good work and I'll keep watching.

Thanks Larry! I completely agree, but off reader out of the box for sure. I have done nothing to this to improve it off road and it still crushes my pretty modified Tacoma. Love it! I have the moshimoto intake and got it from panda Motorworks. They have a bunch of intakes in stock

I had the 2.7L in my 2017 Ford Fusion Sport and I must say after 70,000 miles that engine performed well. But, that was a 4 door sedan 1,000 lbs lighter than the Ford Bronco. That vehicle should have nothing less than a 3.5L n/a V6 or higher engine or a 3.0 TT or higher engine. V8 of course is optimal but then you start losing mpg.
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
Ultimately the power plant doesn’t matter as much as how the power is delivered. Between the final gear ratio and the 10 speed, this engine has plenty through gear reduction to get it moving. I do wish it had a v8 though. Man I miss those days
@love4gtsandguns Жыл бұрын
@@OFFTHEGRIND Power delivery and gearing is definitely key and can make or break any powertrain for sure so I agree. Just glad they didn't stick a 2.0L in it like most vehicles today. 😂 I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 3.6L n/a V6 and its plenty of power. I couldn't imagine a smaller engine in a midsized SUV. I have been in vehicles where the mass was too heavy for the engine.

@@OFFTHEGRIND means they pulled the power in first gear, so it feels like it's laggy, in reality they pulled timing to protect the driveline, which also kills boost response. Also, use FORSCAN to enable Sport mode, it's still not perfect, but much less "laggy" feeling overall.
