Little tip from a woman who loves overseas travelling: You cannot go on the same trips as ones in your 20s when you're in your 30s and so on. Your body can tolerate tougher schedules when you are younger, and the trips will end up being cheaper and you'll get to have more experiences in the same amount of time the earlier you go. Hope you have fun in Europe!

I really do not recommend BetterHelp. They sponsor a lot of creators so they’re super well known, but please do your research on them before signing up for anything. They’re super accessible which is nice, but the draw back is a lot of their therapists are not great and they have charged people without their permission a lot in the past on top of this. Just wanted to leave this here for anyone considering them, just please research a bit first so you can make the right decision for you :)

Then I started to track my expenses, saw how much money i actually still had left at the end of the month and realized that 40 bucks to go swimming each month is money well spent. Honestly, if you have trouble spending money, tracking your expenses really can help to alleviate some of the stress and make you realize that it's ok to spend money on activities you really want to do.

What I am happy to spend money on is mostly good quality food. And I’m not saying dining in a restaurant every day, but spending some more time in the kitchen (which I love actually) and buying just better quality ingredients than a student can afford. I also donate to progressive political candidates, again, after I’ve done my research.

What do you do with all that stuff you've spend your money on but you aren't crazy into anymore? You have to try freediving one day! It's like going on a hike only underwater and it's so peaceful being underwater where you have to constantly stay calm otherwise you'll run out of air faster. @shahzebnasir4692 Жыл бұрын
@@thefinancialfreedomgirl Hahaha the courage comes only from being in the moment because we only feel sorrow and hurt when we think about the past and we only feel worry when we think about the future. Free diving has this funny way of forcing you to focus on every moment like it's your last because if you look up for the surface when rising you'll run out of air and if you only think about the depth you want to get to, you'll begin panicking the moment the light fades as you get deeper. You have to stay calm and focused in the moment! Also you have to dive with orcas and humpback whales in Norway when you're still young! You won't be able to handle the freezing cold water when you're older. It's actually a great reminder that yes while it's important to be set for the future (financially too) the only thing that is given is the present moment now!

I agree with this list except for travel. Unpopular opinion, I know. It’s just so overpriced. I would rather have things I love and use everyday and take a trip somewhere close to recharge. See me carry a nice leather bag to Vons instead of sipping overpriced espresso in a Venice cafe. I do take the occasional trip somewhere far. But It feels like travel in America has become an obsession in some crowds, and we are expected to go somewhere interesting in order to be viewed as cultured and enlightened. There’s a snobbery to travel. My two cents.
@HeronCoyote1234 Жыл бұрын
I would suggest travel to a place YOU want to see/explore, not what’s cool or trendy. If you like coastal towns, go a bit off-season, stay at a quaint b&b or motel, enjoy the sights and the local foods. Ask the locals for food recommendations. Go to a museum that really interests you (like Boston Science Museum, or Clark Museum), and ask about local eateries for meals.

You seem like a pretty reasonable and frugal person. So a genuine question: Why is therapy becoming so prevalent in our culture? Why not have the same conversation you have with the therapist instead with friends, family or spouse? Isn't that just better on the wallet (I don't mean to disparage therapy just trying to genuinely understand)
@lulupomegranate5 ай бұрын
Because your friends and family and spouse don't know shit, because they have their own shit to deal with, they can offer a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand or a listening ear but they cannot work out all the kinks of your issues with you. Because many people need therapy BECAUSE of their friends and family and spouse. Because the world has gone to shit and thanks to the internet we are overexposed to it.
