I had a boss for whom I had gotten a $20,000 grant. When the grant giving company wanted to meet with me for lunch, he was paranoid that they were going to offer me a job rather than think that we were meeting about the grant He felt this way because he reasonably understood that working for his company was not worth my time

Sorry but looks like you didn't pay attention to the show🙃 Monica had to ask for money on the show, her jobs are no very stable, she spends a lot of time unemployed on the job. Also SHE DOES NOT have a saving or emergency fund, they explain that on the show. Also Monica was angry that Chandler didn't want to blow HIS saving on the wedding, someone that is good with money wouldn't do that. Ross Chandler and Rachel have stable jobs and only barely talk about money problems a the end of the show. I will said Rachel that can be a single mom with no problem looks to be better with money specially is she work on fashion she can get discounts (she said this in the show) and things for free. Also Chandler only have problems when he quits his jobs he is very good at saving (the show said so). And Ross lives alone in NYC and even when he was on sabbatical he doesn't complain about money that I can remember.

Can we have a video about how much tv weddings would cost? It got me thinking because Monica made chandler spend his savings. What kind of wedding would they have had if he didn't have that money saved?

Really like this! :) I would love it if you do a videon on "decluttering"-videos. From the beginning I think it was a term from the minimalist movement - to declutter in the beginning of your journy with the intention to live with less. But it has really spiralled out of control - a lot of people online just "declutter" to be able to buy new stuff and consume more (for example a lot of beauty and fashion influencers). I even see this with people who call themselves "minimalists". They might have fewer things, but declutter none the less - and then they buy new things, or very expensive things, or rarely use an item to the end of it's lifetime. It is like they just have to have something new even if they call themselves minimalists. I think they all send the message to the viewers that "you should consume", but it is hidden behind words like "productivity" and "minimalism".

Similar to how cats choose to play with rubber bands and bottle caps over expensive toys, I’ve acquired trendy aluminum bottles over the years as gifts or hand-me-downs and always end up using some no name bottle that appeared in my dorm room 10 years ago. Some aspect of the expensive ones makes them inconvenient - they leak all over my backpack, they’re too heavy, they’re hard to hold for walking long distances, etc.

I know Monica has good habits but there were several times in the show where she mentioned she doesn't save as much as she should, like when her dad was saying they don't need to loan her money when she lost her job because she has a certain percent of her pay in savings and she was like ummmmm well not THAT much, idk I feel it's a tie between her and Ross for me 🤔

FINANCIALLY AUDIT LORELAI GILMORE. Seriously, the take out, the lifestyle spending while managing an Inn. Amazing home with a wrap around porch in Connecticut. Yes, she leans on her parents for help, but the show leans into her being a self made independent single parent. The money troubles come up here and there, but doesn't stop her from going into the investment property of the Dragonfly Inn. I would just love to see how her habits would play out in today's economy lol 😂

This is really interesting to listen to as someone whos never understood the appeal of designer anything. I might just be oblivious but Ive never been able to see how something can be so desired as to warrant the price tags so many items have. Especially when, when looked at without the brand associations, most of the products are....boring. I would get the shift in value if it were something unique or incredibly beautiful, but so often its at most a fairly middle ground item made out of above average materials. But paying a house deposit or more on any accessory or clothing...... thats a new level of commitment to a brand

They can't get me with their tactics but they do offer items that i need and I can't find where I live. Like, replaceable silicone straps form my smart-band, or cosplay accessories like elf ears, wigs, stuff like that. I am more concerned of the materials actually being what they say it is. Like, are the silica gel band I bought actually made out of Silica??? Or am I exposing myself to some cancerous substances?

So TRUE 👍 America 🇺🇸 is designed for CAR not HUMAN in mind. Shopping, Dinning, Offices, Banks, Hospitals, School etc separated from your residence & not accessible by walking means forcing you to learn driving, spend money on CARS, insurance, Gov can TAX you on CAR Property, on Drivers Licence & traffic Violence- that huge PROFIT for Government, instead of Spending Money on Public Transport. 😢😢😢😢

Looking at Ross I'm pretty sure he'd have only been two years out of school, at most, cuz he has a PhD, so I find it hard to believe he'd have been an exhibit curator yet. As for Joey, I feel like he would have been living off residuals from what are effectively are reruns, i.e. episode that were licensed and dubbed in regions outside of Canada and the US. Could you do an audit on Seinfeld? There's no way a stand-up could afford his apartment and what the heck did Kramer even do for a living? I think the only one of the four you ever even adjacently saw at work/working was Elaine.
