coming from someone who works in optical: take your oversized sunnies to an optician! most places will adjust glasses for a fee if they weren't bought at the store, but they can bend the temple-tips so that the glasses fit better and don't fall off your face. might help make that not-quite-right pair of sunnies into something you love and can wear :)

These videos are so fascinating to see from you since I follow a lot of "eco minimalists" who are a lot more strict on the idea of finding a few pieces you love and then pretty much never shopping again it seems (or in order to buy something new they must get rid of something they already own). Your take is refreshing for me as a reminder that it's not a bad thing to love to shop/play with style and add new pieces to your wardrobe! I think my regrets with shopping have been where I decide I want to leap into a wholly new aesthetic and buy both staples and statement pieces and then they end up not being "me" after all. I'm chronically bad at shopping for the personality/lifestyle/aesthetic I wish I was, rather than buying clothes and curating a style that actually works for how I want to express myself and how I can comfortably dress for the life I actually live right now! I have a lot of things sitting in my closet that I'm "waiting" to wear, once I can afford to change careers and have a totally different daily routine. But who knows when that day will come! So instead here I am wearing the same 4 tops and 3 pairs of boring trousers every single day, keeping me trapped in a cycle of lusting after a life I don't have yet instead of enjoying life exactly where I'm at

I am still learning and trying to become a more conscious consumer. The things I have learned to be aware of from my past mistakes is 1. The urge or impulse to shop when something is on sale and only because it is on sale and 2. No longer buying for the fantasy self, not the practical self and how it leaves a closet full of gorgeous clothing and no occasion or lifestyle to actually wear them. So I am being more realistic and buying only the things I will actually wear or have on a list of items that I might eventually want. I am trying to not buy fast fashion and even though I have been much better about it, sometimes I have fallen short and purchased the occasional basic T. I am not by any means perfect, but I am trying to be more conscious and channels like yours are very inspiring. Thank you!

Last and ALWAYS regrettable purchase... a trendy jeans cut!! As a grown ass woman I've recently decided to say F the trends and only invest in jeans that flatter my shape and make me feel good. 😌 and that's that! Ciao, ciao... baci!

I used to buy clothes impulsively but then I was regretting almost everything ! Now, I make a yearly plan of what I want to buy, and I ask myself dozens of questions before actually buying anything. I also don't go in any shop anymore, which helps thinking thouroughly before paying. I generally let a few weeks, sometimes months go by and if I still fancy the same clothes, I buy them. As a result, I have not regretted a single buy in 2 years !

I recently bought a new pair of Levi’s because I was desperate for jeans since gaining weight. I went to a mall and checked literally every store there, none carried my size. I finally went to Levi’s and even they didn’t carry my size unless I bought men’s jeans. They were big enough but entirely the wrong shape for my hourglass figure but I bought them because I felt so dejected. The next day I put them on and immediately hated them, regretting my decision. So I promptly went back to return them. That same night my aunt who had just lost weight asked me if I wanted to look through some of the clothes that was too big for her and I found not only the perfect cozy worn in jeans but also a pair of black trousers to replace the ones I currently have that are so worn they even have a hole in the bum!

I feel so happy to say that I don't really have too many recent regrets! The closest things I have are a vintage dress I won't be able to wear until I get a steamer and some pieces I got from my grandmother's own wardrobe (she was a fashion designer and is one of the most stylish and effortlessly elegant women I know) that just didn't fit me right, so I'm giving them back to her. (learning that mod fashion doesn't suit me as much as I wish it did and finding silhouettes that fit me better has made curating my dream wardrobe so much more fun! I have a very small list of things I want to make and even fewer specific items I want to thrift or buy now. Not to mention, I can confidently say that I love everything I own and wear!)

Nooo, It is the size! Usually adult glasses are 145mm or more, if you have a small head is better 140mm as average. It really changes everything! There is a number inside all glasses with all the measures, check in the internet, it is a very useful topic to buy online haha

Although I also have a very small head and usually either get kids' glasses or petite styles (I wear prescription lenses so I'm always in glasses unless I'm sleeping or in the shower!) So there may be some styles that aren't so easily smallened.

Something I regret buying is the pink men's wear cashmere v neck sweater of my dreams that i bought on sale. It's super cozy, soft, baggy yet femenine and fulfills my 90's dream girl fantasies. BUT now I have the feeling it brings me bad luck. I can't explain it but i don't want to associate with it anymore yet I love how it looks too much to get rid of it. It's in a bag in my closet and i haven't touched for months now. Also I'm too messy for baby pink, idk what I was thinking.

Theres actually a tip for glasses! In eyewear shops they can bend those ear parts so glasses fit you better. I dont know if every eyewear shop does this, but ask if ur local one could do that ! Here in finland each time i buy new glasses they bend them for me and one time they bended by old ones without charging me.

So insightful! And about the glasses...places that sell eyewear can tailor the sliding a little by heating the temple tips and bending them slightly. I had that done for most of my prescription glasses from my local independent seller, so it might be worth asking if you could bring your sunglasses.

I have to use hair ties on sunglasses. If you can find a pair the same colour as the frame. Twist around and position to give a bit of grip behind your ears. Not a perfect fit, but does help with glasses flying off:)

My latest regret? Well, I tend to buy basics for wardrobe only. Basic tops, t-shirts with some design, long skirts. I do accept many pieces from friends and I declutter through it all sending it another way. My regrets usually are from other kind. Tech kind. Two years ago, I bought a Nintendo because I missed my game boy days so much. Regret. I play on it a week per year, if so. Last year, I wanted to sell my Samsung tablet and perhaps keep the money for other stuff and later invest on a laptop. I sold it but my husband managed to convince me to buy another tablet next because it is oh so practical. In a way, yes it is. But it's not what I had been wanting to have, so I find myself having a love-hate relationship with it. And as a minimalist, the idea of having tech piling up in my house that isn't loved and enjoyed make me want to cry.

I bought a cute Peter Pan collar white blouse from Dangerfield (very Audrey H). Unfortunately it ends right on my tummy fat and is like a big arrow pointing to the very body part I am trying to disguise! A few months back I bought an off white corduroy blazer (it was expensive). I was watching a bunch of videos and was looking to change my style (I’m from NYC...we were black...are there other colors?). Every time I put the jacket on, it feels stiff, boxy and I can’t handle the huge blob of off white that stares back at me in the mirror. I’m selling🙁
