That last tip about recording yourself then playing it back while you tap along is an excellent one. I'm an EFT practitioner and have used 'tap-and-rant' but I like the idea of taking it one step further and recording it. Thanks!

Hi again, would you be able to tell me if it would be ok to tap for a long time while crying and sobbing? I’m going through lots of I’m a failure at healing thoughts and feelings, lots of shame and that I’m making it worse for various reasons much much confusion. I do use meditations but I’m never ready to move on to positive statements. I end up stopping it and just crying and tapping on my own which sometimes revs me up, so I’m not sure. Thank you

Hi Katy, It's fine to tap while you're crying. When you tap you are sending a calming signal to the emotional centre of your brain, you're lowering cortisol and helping yourself to process what you're dealing with. It will temporarily rev you up - because it's sending signals to that emotional centre of your brain (the amygdala) and you're focusing on the emotion. The secret is to keep tapping until you feel a shift. I've got a video coming out soon which talks about this in more detail. People often stop tapping because it heightens emotion. Obviously if you're dealing with a lot or it feels overwhelming it's worth working with a practitioner to help you make sense of it all. I hope that helps. ❤😘❤

Yes i did. EFT was a big part of my recovery.
