This is true!!! I read this from a korean article about how back when they would starve instead of just saying hi regularly, they would greet the other person as “did you eat?” because most likely they hadn’t. So now it kind of just stuck as a sign of endearment.

However they have seen people starve and seen people lose absolutely everything. As a result they are always concerned about what they are going to eat, they never want to skip meals ( because you never know) and when offered food they never say no even if they're not hungry because it' s like a "reserve". Ive asked them once why they were doing it when they never starved even once in their lived and they told me " u european born people are so usef to seeing people have their basic needs met that u lost ur survival instincts. I would love to see a video commenting the difference you noticed in the way of thinking from westerns to koreans regarding the respect for old people in all aspects. In the family, in the working place, as a university student, etc. There is this asian concept called filial piety that dates back to the confucius times and is present in the modern culture as well. I believe the respect to old people, including parents, senior students, bosses at the workplace, and general situations like that should have a limit. Lol I grew catering to my dad and my brothers. I noticed these things when working with Koreans. I worked with all girls, we had some guys come from the main office from time to time. It was a Korean clothing store. I realized that I want someone like this. I don't think it is annoying, I think it is cute. And in another video you made a girl mentioned that Korean guys like cuteness. I’ve been watching kdramas and cdramas and it’s interesting the differences and similarities in the two cultures. You’re videos are fun and informative. Especially when you are talking about your men. In my culture Mexican we have similar interests. My husband is polish/Irish our cultures are different even though we are both American. I love learning about different cultures so you got a new subscriber!!!
