Agreed David, hence I've changed my Era 300's from surrounds to a stereo pair and grouped with arc and sub. Amazing now for music. Tv was echoing due to lag but by increasing tv dialogue delay to max it is now synched perfect. Sonos need to update the app so you can have them as surrounds but when you select full music it turns on the front driver.

&007Shaggydog wow...! This is what exactly I am looking for. I created group 1 for pair of era 300 named it as My_Era300 Arc and sub gen 3 grouped and connected to TV. Now In the app, I have two volume control one is for era stereo and for arc. But, I am getting drop out and in from era stereo. When I reduce era volume less than thae arc volume, I could not hear the dropouts. But, this is not the solution. Is there any real solution to avoid this dropout. But the sound was immersive. Thanks.

Can you please explain more? I have the beam gen 2.. and want to put only one Era300 in the back. I know that it wont be a “surround” I only want to enhance the volume. But… many users mention delay in the Era300. So my question is: Will my suggested setup work for what I want it? Or the delay is something that cannot be fixed?

They didn’t tell you that you could use the era Bluetooth connection to listen to channels outside their service list that won’t link. However, if you link to the Era Bluetooth first in the room you have them, let’s say to Radio Garden, you can then patch all your other rooms in over your WiFi! Very cool!

You can use as stereo pair plus a center ARC and 2 ERA for surround plus 2 Sub . It works well after review

You can _kinda_ use them as TV speakers if you run a lead from your TV's headphones out socket into the Sonos line adaptor and set the delay to the lowest setting at 75ms, but it's not ideal obviously.

Number 6 if you want to use the aux you need the sonos adapter as other adapters wont work with the era 300

That's because most adapters are Digital to Analogue converters whereas the Era 300 needs an Analogue to Digital converter. Any USB-C A2D converter should work in theory.

This is only when Dolby Atmos content is being played as the 300 is designed to project audio around the room rather than straight out the front of it

@@smarthomesoundsshorts Actually as things stand, the centre driver is also disabled for some of the other formats (some have suggested it is related to the compression formats involved; some say it is particularly bad where MAT is involved). Presumably this is a bug but Sonos refuses to confirm or deny this. It may just be the way they intended it to work. Although not a gamer myself, I know people in that community are particularly upset with the terrible quality of surround audio. You will also find users reporting that the inner tweeters are also disabled for non-Atmos content, essentially making it as though you are using surrounds pointed away from you, towards the boundaries, rather than towards the listener. Please see numerous popular threads on the topic at Sonos, Reddit, and elsewhere, including acknowledgement from at least one Sonos moderator.

Sonos sells a dongle (separately 🙄) that plugs into the USB-C port on the back which allows you to plug in an ethernet and an aux lead
