If you play acoustic guitar, longer nails helps a lot. But it depends what kind of music you play. If you just play chords, I find boring, you don't need. But if you fingerplay, it helps a lot, sounds like with picks and you don't hurt your fingers. Look it up. Some Final Fantasy fingerstyle songs are awesome, like Fisherman's Horizon.

On the subject of posture, there's a great scene in the 1978 Superman movie with Christopher Reeve. He, as Clark Kent, is arriving to go on a date with Lois. While she's in the back getting a wrap, "Clark Kent" stand up straight from his hunched over posture. He lifts his head up, shoulder's back, takes off the glasses and "boom" he's Superman even without the costume. He speaks, slightly deeper vocal register "Lois?" Then, just before she comes back out he chickens out, shrivels back up into himself and he's "mild mannered" Clark Kent again. Reeve is the only person who ever did the difference between Superman and Clark Kent well enough to make me believe that the secret identity really could work. And he did it all with voice, posture, and expression. So...be Superman rather than Clark Kent. ;)
@cdb50013 жыл бұрын
Agreed, Reeve is the only true Superman. Even with the sequels getting cheesier and cheesier, he still sold the character perfectly.

My favourite part of the "old" superman movies is when Lois reveals his identity by shooting "Clark" in the chest, with fake bullets. The conclusion can only be that Superman doesn't even feel real bullets...

Now I've gained some muscle from over two years of hitting the gym consistently, I can say that REALLY made the difference; physically and mentally as well. You can see these "influencers" tell you these tips on how to be more confident, but really, hit the fucking gym. There's no "hack" to it when you really feel sexy and you have the looks to back it up. Work with what you have, work with what your limitations are, and just forget about these ideal bodies we see from Hollywood. Enjoy the grind, embrace the pain, and love the fight. The only regret you'll have is not hitting the gym sooner than you can.

With regards to grooming habits, I think part of the reason some people resist trimming nose hair is that doctors recommend not doing it because they help catch airborne germs before they can get to where they can do damage. On the other hand, being depressed and lonely is also bad for your health so I was already trimming mine down in college. There's also the fact that you spend a good chunk of your life without the nose hairs growing long enough to worry about until one day you look in the mirror and go "whoa, that doesn't look good." I do full contact martial arts and keeping nails trim on both hands and feet is a point of good manners. Cutting a training partner/friend with a nail when kicking or wrestling with them is bad manners and even nastier knowing said cut could rub against the dirty gym mats before it gets noticed.

People see me and allow me to use a particular piece of gym equipment after I kindly ask them to switch to the one next to it. I see most people there regularly, and I'm only there to complete my 3 to 4-hour workout; there's no time to socialize. Most people I see are there using 90% of their time on their phones, text messaging, or making music choices. I only use my phone to keep on my routine listed in my notes. Regards

Great views and opinions as always. I live in a small town in Ontario, Canada after living in a large city in Ontario. I've been educated and implemented alot of these "tips" for years. One thing I'll voice is don't become discouraged! Time and time again ppl will look at me and say I'm clearly trying or look at "big and flashy." It's not like I go to my retail job in a tuxedo. I care about being healthy and putting my best foot forward(first impressions only happen once). It is super discouraging to see inexperienced, dirty, poorly put together guys enjoying relationships and company that you know for a fact your better equipped for. My advice is let it go, don't ever stop being yourself, don't give up on your efforts to self improve. Countless times a woman has said months or years later "yeah you smell great you always look great, I just didn't feel comfortable telling you that" . If you choose to work on yourself it should always be for YOUR self satisfaction.

These are just 'facts' and I find that a lot of people get pissed off at me for them. In reality I am quite humble and always driven to 'be better' so I can use my life to help and serve others. Agree with all of these. I’ve been working my ass off to lose weight and it’s helping. I watch guys like Jackson Dejardins and Will Tennyson who always have some decent stuff up for workouts and meals but most of all learning to be happy with myself throughout the process has been huge. I started dropping weight and seeing my face slim down. Clothes were fitting loose. Starting to get new clothes in a smaller size. Changing my shoe game and clothes. I wore baggy pants at the ankles and I look back and think how sloppy it looks. Now I wear pants that fit and don’t look messy. Got some chukka boots/shoes. I have a couple of nice watches. IWC/AP and my dads Patek he left me but even just a G-Shock on a casual day. Changing my habits to lose weight and eat better definitely helped me gain my confidence back. Dressing better and while I’m not blessed in the looks department, I look like FMJs Private Pyle lol, at least my female friends notice I’m rocking a different more confident guy. Just gotta find a new stylist. My current one keeps cutting my hair too short and I lose my volume. Wanna get my hair kinda like Teddy”s. Thanks Courtney for the great content. 👍

6:50 Fashion is so fun. Channels like Real Mens Style and The Gentlemen's Gazette are awesome resources. Learn the basics, put like 5 minutes of thinking into what you're going to wear, then rack up the compliments throughout the day. It's like the feeling of putting on a really cool halloween costume except you can wear it any day you want and not get weird looks. Fit, materials, versatility, then fun colors. 100% get two pairs of good boots to start, then get matching belts, then dark denim, then some well fitting shirts or sew your current shirts to fit better (it's actually really easy), and then some kind of second layer like a jacket or a flannel. Also I'd recommend getting some nice cloth masks, considering the times. Do all of this, start messing with the colors using the color wheel, and have a good eye-- then boom you'll be dripping everyday of your life. And don't worry too much about needing to have a billion individual pieces of clothing. I was concerned about that too initially, but once you get maybe 7-8 foundational pieces (jeans, boots, jackets, etc.) you'll have so many combinations. And the best part is, adding a single new garment unlocks a whole bunch more combinations. Like I'm thinking about getting a new flannel or maybe a pair of burgundy boots, and that's easily another 7 looks. And once you find, maybe, 10 individual looks that you like, you can just rock those and you'll be set for literally years. Doing this brings me so much joy. I go out looking my best all of the time. It also weirdly helps with anxiety, if you struggle with that, "Why are they looking at me?" It's because they're just appreciating your style, dude. Think of it this way, you're wearing clothes regardless, what's wrong with making them look good?

About the long nails/short nails with guitar players.... Depends on the style of guitar you play. The hand you hold the pick in or the hand you fingerpick with can be longer if you want to utilize your nails to pick the strings, but the fretting hand on the neck of the guitar those nails should always be short so when you press down strings its easier to produce a clear sound. Most guitar players have short nails on both hands unless you play a specific style or genre that requires the long nails on one hand;) Even then some people use nail extensions for that so you don't have to commit to long nails on one hand all the time which can look weird. Hope someone learned something from this!

Hello Courtney: On the subject of men's clothes, good quality men's wool jackets are a little expensive. However, they last for many, many years and they continue to look good no matter what the latest fashion is regarding lapel sizes and number of buttons might be. If that is combined with a good quality shirt, jeans in good condition and nice shoes, then the overall effect looks good and it comfortable. Long finger nails while playing the piano are really bad news.

As far as needing long nails to play guitar, it only applies to classical guitarists, and only on the finger picking hand. Some will even go so far as to cut up chunks of ping pong ball and glue it to the underside of their finger nail to reinforce their natural "picks".

I think the first message is a really important one as well, you shouldn't do it to please others. You should do it for yourself. If you want something you have to work for it and do things you might not be comfortable with, could be a job or to get a date. We are pack animals and we must do certain things to be accepted by the rest of the pack. And it's so easy to be blind when looking at yourself, you might think that you don't do anything wrong but others might percieve you differently. Take for expample women who say they only get assholes, maybe if she wants different results she might have to look at herself and try to sort out what is it she does to attract assholes. Yeah, we can argue that we are unique and perfect as we are, but sometimes in order to get somewhere we actually have to look deep inside and find our own flaws

My problem with clothes is that I like warm rooms (am skinny and also generally I like more warmth). And from October to April I'm like freezing almost everywhere. So no matter how i dress up (shirts, T-shirts) I always have to puy a hoodie on. So basically the people aroind me see me whole month (maybe from October to April) on the same 4 hoodies/jumpers I have. And I don't feel like buying another hoodie because it's not necessary and I protect the nature and wanna stop fast fashion so I am not goimg to buy more than necessary. But still... don't know what to do.

Try a wool long sleeve base layer, along with a flannel shirt or shirt jacket. Warmer than a cotton/polyester blend hoodie. And better suited for physical activity since wool keeps you warm without getting waterlogged with sweat. And now you have a winter outfit that looks more put together than a hoodie.

8:08 Dunno about others (talking about myself).. but I often find strange or weird people trying to also ''talk with their hands''. For me they often do weird moves with their hands (and I m not talking about pointing out something or showing a few fingers for a specific number cuz that can make sense and it's less weird to do). I also do hand gestures when for example I m angry or someone annoyed me.. but when I'm chill and relaxed I barely move my hands. Why ? Cuz if I want to say something I have a MOUTH TO USE. Hand gestures should be mainly for people who can't speak (mute person). I rather watch people's face(s) when they talk instead of watching their hands moving.

unfortuneately, its not unusual or not unheard for a lot of guys, men, to enter their 20s and 30s without ever having had a girlfriend before, its a reminder that it has always seemed that cases like that are male-dominated, it does feel very cruel but of course nature and life is meant to be cruel at times

Scientists and doctors have learned that inflammation ages you faster and if you want a good way to reduce inflammation, as well as speed up digestion making your metabolism more efficient with the nutrients you put in your body, go for a 5 to 10 minute walk after a meal and see how it makes a difference. And if you want better joint health for the long haul and you want to get better cardio in, quit going for a jog and quit running and just take a walk. Walking is much healthier much safer and more natural than running and they say that walking and swimming are the best forms of cardio especially since they are very very easy on the joints

Wow for years I been hearing cardio like jogging is the best art to do, but after following some intelligent bodybuilders they also say what u do. Cardio like jogging also puts more stress on ur joints and skipping cardio is usually ppl who want to run marathons or etc. how can you go about looking young for ur age btw?

I just got in some really nice fragrances; Bleu De Chanel, Spicebomb Extreme, Azzaro Wanted by Night, and YSL La Nuit De I'homme. Really really like them. But two days later I turned on Ashley Weston's channel, and she insisted that men should not wear fragrance of ANY KIND. It was a gut punch. I just got this stuff in....god I wish I didn't see her video on that....

do not want to seem arrogant or anything, but I have heard from older people that I am very physically attractive, heard from many older people I have dating. that I have a wonderful personality, (character, calm), and look. take care of my exterior and interior and take care of me fairly good. trained since childhood Swimming, cares for me well. only thing that has bothered enormously me on dates is that many comment on my height, become sensitive area. I'm neither a dwarf nor a basketball player. I wondering how do i do with my height? otherwise good video and best regards from Stockholm, Sweden, Stefano.

About guitar players and long nails ... CLASSICAL guitar players have to maintain the fingernails on their right hand. I majored in classical guitar in college and continue to play professionally. Nails on my right hand have to be kept at a certain length and I wear nail polish to keep them strong. They're not "super" long, but they are just slightly longer than most men's fingernails. If you're a rock, jazz or folk guitarist, probably one who "strums" or plays with a pick, fingernails are not necessary.

@TheMerryPup3 жыл бұрын
If you play 'fingerstyle' guitar, (i.e., finger picking), then you might grow you nails long instead of using finger picks. Also, if you play classical or flamenco style guitar you'd grow your nails long on your strumming/plucking hand because that is how you play in those forms. FYI

You need some nail length for classical guitar, and it helps for bass and some electric guitar, too; some of us are finished, then!

The last one is interesting to me. Must be a cultural thing but do people in general really not shower or use deodorant or use cologne? I mean I'm from a small country and not wealthy at all but I always always shower and use deodorant to even go get groceries. If I'll spend more than 5 minutes on an errand I wear cologne too. You don't have to shower in it, just couple of touches are enough (good quality cologne) and they can last forever Truly interesting, I thought colognes were the norm, hell I don't even register in my brain how you go out without deodorant on
@simonyu88383 жыл бұрын
Deodorant is common in the US when people are working out but not everyone does it. And some who sweat more or have stronger odor should wear it even when not working out but often don't. Antiperspirants also have ingredients that can stain shirts so since I don't sweat much I prefer not to wear it when not physically active. Men's fragrances/colognes on the other hand are not commonly worn in the US. A lot of men view it as either extravagant or not masculine. And some are turned off on the idea from being around people that wear bad fragrances or way too much.
@madestro3 жыл бұрын
@@simonyu8838 well the last part is completely true. It's normal and relatable. Just like most wouldn't like to be around someone with bad smell, too much cologne or bad quality cologne give that out

I don’t know if women find red more attractive on men (and as a Tottenham fan that’s just not going to happen for me) BUT studies have shown that women have a greater tendency to wear red when ovulating.
