Becoming more disciplined was a huge improvement for me. When my mom passed away, my world fell apart. I sulked for a little, but saw it wasn't getting me anywhere. I started to adopt more discipline in my life to fight against the world that treated me like shit. It might not be the most healthy rationale for doing so, but I started adopting a mindset of a "Special Forces" operator i.e. SEAL. Everyday I wake up, I know that the universe doesn't care whether I succeed or not. People I know and don't know may try to make my day difficult, miserable, pick your adjective. That being said, I know that if I remain diligent in what I want and don't get distracted by "instant gratifications", I'll reach my goal faster than if I was without purpose and partying excessively. What you are saying Courtney is 100% correct! What I am about to say is not trying to find excuses but you left out depression. Depression is killing and alot of people suffers that without even knowing it. They often think they lack motivation or just feel lazy but in reality it could be serious symptoms of depression and you need to go and check it out. For example earlier in your life you've had lots of energy and you feel you wanna do this and that and wanna achieve this and that and suddenly one day you wake up one morning you have no energy left in your body, you just wanna go back to sleep, you stop caring for anything and you just feel tired. Then you start to feel comfortable and wanna be left alone etc and this pattern starts to repeat more and more each day. Be aware, don't mix up the feeling of laziness with being depressed, they are 2 totally different thing and many misunderstand that. Please seek help if you suspect this before it's too latte, it might come to the point you don't even care about seeking help and that's when you'll lock yourself up in a room and just wanna play video games. Depression is self deletion over the long run because being depressed you don't have even motivation to have self discipline. Regardless great video Courtney Ryan, you have my full support and your channel is great! Many men and woman are suffering from depression and the tips you gave in this video won't even help to some degree and that's why they need to be aware and go even further to the next step to seek professional help. It might not that you don't have motivation or self discipline, you might be that you have depression!

5 weakness that destroy men 1. Stop chasing just make yourself better and right girl will come 2. No goal/purpose in life. Take your time and figure your purpose. Do what make your happy. Try different things before settle on one. 3. Lack of discipline & action link with no purpose. "You are what you do" "action speak louder then words" 4. Alochol and party. Little bit fun is okay kept it in moderation. Control this part of life. It can be addiction. Alochol cause bad decisions. 5. Instant gratification: desire to experience fulfilment or pleasure without delay. We easily bore. We never stop to be thank you for what we have always wanted more. The points Courtney has made are spot-on. I'm primarily an introvert at heart. I've watched guys enter the death spiral of instant gratification, excessive partying and drinking, and of course, chasing girls to have sex. In my opinion, a lot of these problems arise out of a lack of discipline and having a meaningful purpose in life. Divert your energy back into your goals. Become selective in your company, invest time in people and activities that are worthwhile. Begin to develop and harness your skillset to form a sort of financial freedom. At this point in life, everything will start to make sense and become more clear.

The best thing that men can do is never give a woman (outside your immediate circle) a compliment or second look ... Look right through them as if they are non-existent, as a man this gives you the power.
@ams9143 жыл бұрын
Bill, that's a great way to never meet a woman. You can show interest without being a simp. Complements are fine, just don't gush or go overboard. Strike up a conversation with no expectations, and try to connect on a human level. After dating for a while a lot of these "rules" don't matter anymore. Women have incredible red-flag detectors, and many men set them off for good reason. That hurts, but it's the truth. I've been there. Neediness, being overeager, even too much vulnerability too soon can be a big mistake. You need to be comfortable with yourself, living a life that you want to live. They then get to come along for the ride, which doesn't mean they don't have their own lives obviously, but optics-wise, that's what needs to be done.
@deadcell48373 жыл бұрын
I semi agree. As mentioned, you need to show some degree of interest if you want to attract a woman in the real world. I do think think though that its important to NEVER give women attention on social media, especially likes/ comments on photos. Girls will think of you as a simp if you gush over them on facebook/ insta.

Solid/sound advice, women are an offender for #1 too. What it really is, for both genders, is seeking fulfillment from outside of yourself in a person to make YOU happy or YOU satisfied or YOU fulfilled. But the more healthy approach is finding things within yourself that make you happy, satisfied, or fulfilled and sharing that with others. And if you find someone who aligns with your values you can journey along together in this life whether it’s a friend, coworker, or lover. A lot of the things you mentioned were things to fill the “void”. Just meditate or connect with your higher power and face your fears/emotions and work to overcome them.

I love this and am also embarrassed that so few men have fathers who have already taught them all this wisdom. My guess is that you are as great a listener to men as a talker to men. Much respect, ma'am!

One weakness is when it is too good to be true, it definitely is. Learned it in college and tested and paid the price for it. Lesson learned.

1 weakness is being pushed by others in the direction they want you go to rather than knowing what you want. *im not sure if you made this because of what youv'e heard recently but i notice that things tend to seem like they spread fast when you make genuine changes and things tend to seem slow and take forever if your ungenuine and not into it 100%.

Great point about alcohol. I've been doing sober october with some friends and its been a great challenge to find things to do that don't center on alcohol (and it's a little harder than I'd like). Ideas: go on a hike, see a movie/play, go to a haunted house/attraction!

In the last 5 years, i've cut down on my drinking significantly. I was never an alcoholic, but when I used to drink, I used to binge. I also used to mix drinks, which accelerates the speed of intoxication. When I moved back to the netherlands, I had an experience that I blacked out while cycling, and fell of my bike. If I had hit my head on the cyclepath, I could have been seriously hurt. That was a wake up call, and i've reduced my drinking drastically since then.

Although this might not be the kind of content you normally make, the hint you gave towards how you've seen alcohol destroy men and the personal experiences you've had could make for a very informative video that could help countless people with the concept of moderation. Love the vids by the way!

My problem is mostly the "no purpose" and "lack of discipline/action". When I was a teenager, my goals were to go get through school/college/etc, find a job where I can financially support myself, and move out of my parents' house. At that time, I really thought those were some ambitious goals. I thought I wasn't going to able to accomplish them until I was in my 30s. To my complete and utter surprise, I managed to complete all those goals when I was 22. Found a good job a few months after college and moved to a new area. So at the point, I was like "Ok, I accomplished every goal I set for myself. Now what do I do?" I spent so much time and effort on accomplishing my original goals that I kind of forgot how to want anything else. So I just spent the next 8 years basically just waking up, going to work to pay my bills, coming home, hanging around for a few hours, then going to bed. No social life, no dating life, nothing. I'm 30 now, and I still have no idea what I'm doing. I'm not really living, I'm just existing. I'm not really interested in anything, so finding new hobbies is very difficult. The hobbies/interests I had when I was younger aren't really popular in the area I moved in, so those aren't really an option. I feel like if I try new hobbies, I would probably be doing it just for the sake of trying to be more interesting (or least less boring). It's hard to feel fulfilled when you have no interests. With all that in mind, I just sort of lack the motivation to try anything just because it just feels like there's no solution. I just continue to exist because honestly (and sadly) it's all I know.

Thank you Courtney! If you were my daughter, I would be proud of you for this content. As a person, in a highly respected and well compensated job, people often comment that they would have loved to do what I do. My response is, always, “what stopped you?”. I get various reasons, but the underlying reason is that it takes too much focus, self discipline, and self sacrifice to get there. As one my ex-Vietnam Vet mentors once told me, “what you’re doing today ain’t going to get you to where you “claim” to want to go!” So… I did the “grind”, in my 20’s, focused on my career, trying to being the best that I could be, in my profession, and avoided being lured away by vvomen’s goals. So…, know whether you are willing to make the sacrifices to achieve your goals, and evaluate your partners ability to be on board with your dream. My view on life is “be good to all others”. Respect others, regardless of their education, I know vo-tech students that are multi-millionaires, whom are honest, very hard working, and yet are disrespected by social women and social media.

To have self purpose and discipline of your choice. Not what other people THINK you should do (unless you ask them for help with the matter.) And instant gratification is a problem with everyone. One other thing. When something is not working, and you are continuing to do it because others are telling you to keep doing it, be persistent and patient, and no matter what you do or how long you do it...I am talking about months or years....and you are not getting results. You have stand on your own two feet and say ENOUGH!

4 months drug and alcohol free. All other aspects of my life fell into place. I am in better shape. I am making new friends. My finances are in better order and I am starting to invest. I just look healthier. Getting rid of the booze is the biggest (and maybe hardest) bit of self improvememt you can make. Single without plans on changing it, but if I was interested in relationships my options seem to have drastically improved with number and quality of prospects.

i think mental health and the lack of access to it (whether its financial, personal or social) is the root of some, if not most of these issues we face. theres thousands, probably millions living with conditions undiagnosed that probably causes or contributes to their lack of motivation, sense of attachment, short attention span, etc. Anyways, great video, as always. Touchy subject but you handled it with much sensitivity and tact.

She's 25. Unmarried. With barely any life experience. The last person I'd ever listen to. Clearly the man doesn't want to wife her up after 3 years of being together. That really says something. What's he waiting for?? If she was so great she'd be all locked down a long time ago!
@rubenvazquez29963 жыл бұрын
@@WheresWaldo05 Wow, please, calm down. Look, there are some people who become mature earlier than others. See, whether she is married or not, or whether they plan to, it is only their business, not ours, and in any case someone's civil status doesn't change even a bit their worthiness, understand not even a bit. Please, listen to you, and from what space you are talking, it is not a constructive/positive critic which you're making, realize! You may be going through a hard time, I could understand that, but dumping your frustration here won't change your situation for better, not even slightly. And see, when you listen to someone, if you are actively listening, you will be able to grasp the quality of the message that person is conveying; and while there may - of course - be some aspects of her speech which may be subject to different nuances, the overall message Courtney is conveying is - at the very least - close to impeccable in regard to the understanding of the functioning of human psychology applied to man-woman relationships. Cheers, buddy.

Reliable monogamous family oriented can become a prison to men if there little is no support from partner. However, I received a family that included me in their reunions, had beautiful children that were successful, stable and gave me grandchildren. I got to meet some of my wife's wonderful fishing and hunting men with some of the best fish frys I've ever been part of at the beach. So except for the dying wife cancer part, it's been a good life going with the monogamous family thing. Good Luck to the test of you guys because I think I'd rather deal with the cancer riddled wife than the horrible wohmen that are out there Now.

Some of us know this. But it's good to hear it being taught. Young men really need to pay attention to this. Take some time to work on you. Increase, or find ways to increase you financial status. Work on your health with exercise and good nutrition. Work on your mind with positivity and loving yourself. These things will attract the right people to you and make you successful. Having gone through a devastating loss through divorce, and keeping on track with recovery by self improvement was "key" to becoming an attractive, self confident and loving person. Even at my age you can further improve yourself. You have to be whole if you want to attract good things into your life. Always take the oportunity to step back, analyze, and see where you can improve; then take action.

Damn, I'm doing better then I thought. The biggest issue I have now is finding someone to share life with, due to lots of childhood trauma I never chased any girls, now I'm middle aged and have next to no relationship experience. It's not much fun either. I've spent the last 8 years working on my mental health so it's getting there. I do feel like I'm a long way behind though, but I try not to think about that bit. I'm rebuilding my house now almost done with 3 years of working on it and next is planting a forest for someone to build a boat in 400 years. Great video, I've seen all those weaknesses wreck lives.
