I really love what you were saying about positivity with money! I'm definitely more of a thrifter simply because I adore fashion but I'm not exactly in a position to spend loads of money on clothing and I much prefer to spend it on traveling. But I think it's so wonderful when someone has saved up for something that makes them really happy, nothing wrong with it! For some people it's trips, for some clothes, for others food! If you work hard, you should be able to reward yourself!

You are so right about the CPW theory. When I was still in high school, about 8 years ago, I wanted a black leather jacket, like a really good one. So I saved a lot of money for it and waited for winter sales to come. I ended up getting a black Harley Davidson leather jacket in half price, but it was still on the pricey side for me. It was 245€. But I was sure that I would wear it like crazy. After 8 years the CPW is 0.82€, and maybe less. It was one of the smartest buys of my life
@AmySerranox7 жыл бұрын
Mspenny93 sooo good! You brought up a good point to. Winter sales are the best for buying coats at a cheaper price point without having to sacrifice quality. I love looking for deals!!

I really agree with this. In college I used to always feel guilty about spending more on clothing than my friends. When they asked about my new skirt I would say I got it at a discount or something so that they wouldn't judge me. However, at the end of the day everyone enjoys and spends on different things. They spend money cafe-hopping and going out to fancy places for dinner while I don't care for that and mostly just have dinner at home and eat the same thing at work every day.
@sandynegron9397 жыл бұрын
I definitely agree with everything you said in this video and I can't wait to apply this in my life but I wanted to mention. less fortunate people naturally are a bit envious (as I once was) not because they can't buy these things but because they can barely put food on a table but see people spend $2000- on shoes. Its their money and people should spend *their hard earned money how they want* but I always believe that you should give back. Like if you spend thousands on a jacket, purse etc. why not do the same to help others? Even if its like $50. If all people just gave back a little, our world would be a better place.

Having a mom that buys literally anything just because it was on sale and “omg so cheap!”, that video spoke to me! I love all your videos and I think it’s such a talent to be able to talk about beauty and fashion without triggering people to spend more and more money... and yaaasss about the positive attitude towards money!

You are so refreshing talking about money in a fashion video so head-on! I'm totally not in the league of buying expensive items (I practically live in Uniqlo so I was so pleased you said you like it too) but I personally never felt jealous of people who could. I guess it's cos status symbols are exactly meant to reflect what you can afford and I don't really feel great trying to look a lot wealthier than I really am. If I one day earn enough whereby expensive things don't break the bank for me - I wouldn't stop myself. That said, I totally think it's possible to look classy and put-together with high street and second hand items. Thanks for all the style videos, you're a class act

I love all the ideas in this video! I agree with everything you said! I do agree fashion is important to reflect your personality and to make good first impressions! Quality is key! I agree too when you mentioned heels; I only buy chunky heels now because I hurt my knee years ago. So I don't shop for stilettos even if that is what everyone says to wear. I find it difficult to assess how timeless or relevant an item will still be a few years from now. I'm changing my wardrobe to be more capsule-esque, but buying new things is tricky for me. What a classic basic is does change, and so might my body and taste. Idk maybe just attachment issues though :P

Why does quality relate to cost? I don't know if it's always the rule.
@AmySerranox7 жыл бұрын
Very true. While thats not always the "rule" its def. an indicator that most can easily identify if you may not know how a garment is constructed or what the makes a quality item. I always have fast fashion in my head when I'm thinking of less expensive and they tend to cut corners. (materials, seams, buttons etc) I'll have a full video about quality because I'd love to elaborate a bit more XO
