Before I started studying fashion merchandising I loved fashion but once you are in and in class your teachers go this deep with history and documentaries, icons, architecture and so you get more passionate about it! I even wrote an article about it with some documentaries & suggestions on online courses (I even made a playlist on my channel with videos that can help you start getting deep with fashion lol) loved this video Amy 🙆🏻✨🌟

How did you become an interior designer?
@veliana79583 жыл бұрын
@@Abilouise You can study interior design, interior architecture, scenography/set design, or simply architecture, but there are plenty of designers who didn't go to university, it depends on what you want to do.

I love this!!! I am a nerd about this things and I know it isn't the most "intellectual" but i love how you break it down and gush over it!! and you can totally see your knowledge in your style, love your detail! and thought process behind it. Not cookie cutter insta looks.

I was a Fashion Merchandising major almost 10 years ago (ugh, that makes me feel very aged) and despite not working in the industry I still love following it. I recommend, though it might be hard to find, a book called The Cheap Date Guide to Style by Kira Jolliffe and Bay Garnett. It is not an educational book but it features little interviews with different style icons (like Chloe Sevigny and Dita Von Teese) tidbits of information related to finding your style and then some. It's a very light read but still one of my favorite fashion related books 🤓💯💃🏽

hey amy! Would really love if you could make a series/video on how to learn about fashion on your own (more like editorial stuff, not really fashion design) and more specifically where to start e.g. fashion history, studying individual designers etc! I'm a business marketing student but can't afford to take on any fashion courses so i hope to be able to learn it myself! Thanks xx

You inspire me so so much. I'm only 14 and I can listen to you talk for hours and hours...literally lol. I only discovered your channel maybe a couple weeks ago and that same day i pretty much binged watch all of your previous videos. I feel like I'm slowly turning into a nerd too when it comes to this stuff its just so interesting to me and you and your videos just help me get my mentality on the right track to thinking creatively for myself. You've helped me realize that education can take my outlook on fashion and my aesthetic to a more advanced level.

Okay. Long story short. I use to love fashion when I was younger and wanted to be a fashion designer and slowly that faded but now I am really passionate about again. I wanted to thank you for making this video because it really helps a lot. Being someone who wants to pursue this passion again as well as my other passion which happens to be music REALLY helps. I will definitely be checking these books out and subscribing to your channel and watching more of your videos.

Your passion for fashion is evident in this video. I like how you reference different time periods and explain why they are important to know about. It shows that you are serious about the work you do. That's really awesome! And I very much appreciate that. So thank goodness for nerds!!!! T.G.F.N. Lol

I was just dissapointed at the fact that the fashion and music book didn't acknowledge June Ambrose (look her up) she contrubited so much to the 90s and this just confirms to me how the fashion industry always over looks a certain group although we literally are just getting some recognition within the last few years. We will continue to create paths for those who have closed doors on us. Great Video.
