Payload is useless after restart since you need to jailbreak every time to get goldhen running which can use payload to stop updates, best way is to block dns URLs from playstation which is used for updates, you can put them in the router if your router allows

@@Krahamus I don't use internet for gaming, yeah I know that I should apply the jailbreak after every restart and in fact I was talking about the payload which disables updates, I've tried it and my ps4 couldn't update because of it, such a nice feature so that people who use their ps4s on internet don't accidentally update to a higher firmware

Everything he said is ok but if you want to play online on some call of duty (bo3 or smth) you can still host/join private lobbies and play online. Beware you are playing with other jailbroken ps4 and they can use cheats

But am I good with just turning off the auto system updates and being on GoldHEN? Will there only be trouble if I try to go online in a game or by trying to log in to PSN stuff?

As long as you make sure the system is not auto-updating, you can bring it online safely, for the most part. Just don't try to mess around with PS Store.

GoldHEN will no load, and the jailbreak will be...err.. broken. You will just need to run the jailbreak process again.

No, system wise its all the same, the difference is in jailbreak version stability, if you lets say on 11.00 firmware you might crash more often using goldhen compared to 9.00 or lower, also goldhen by itself can be less stable with never version, for 11.00 it might be better use 2.3 version instead of beta ones because crashes, 9.0 in other hand might perform better on beta versions compared to 11.00

My ps account was hacked and sony wont help unless i track down the playstation 3 i had litteraly over a decade ago and get the code off the back. It was still allowing me to play my installed games but suddenly arbitrarily locked all the software. So with litteraly no fault of my own im out my entire childhood library. If someone took the amount of money i had in it from me in person id have to beat the shit out of them. Because they are robbing me. But because its done virtually its to them a victimless crime. Fuck playstation. Honestly i used to argue for their sake as a kid. Never again. Not touching anything made by them again.

Does this mean, that if I restart or completely disconnect the ps4 from the power supply, I won't be able to use HEN again if I don't have a computer or laptop even though I turned on "enable rest mode support" before that. I still don't have a ps4 console, but I intend to buy one with jailbreak 11.00, so the question might be a bit silly.

GoldHEN is kind of like a replacement for the Playstation Store, and it can only run while the jailbreak is active. The jailbreak will reset if the console does, so if you reboot or power cycle, yes you will have to re-jailbreak and re-install GoldHEN (but your previous games and saves will still be there). If you want the least hassle re-jailbreaking, look into "PS4 Raspberry Pi Zero jailbreak" for firmware version 9.00, or "PS4-Tool jailbreak" device for firmware version 11.0. The RPi method will drop GoldHEN onto the console after jailbreaking from the Pi itself. The PS4-Tool method will grab the GoldHEN payload from a connected thumb drive the first time, and transfer it to the console internal drive.
