The adapter in the back can easily be rotated using small RJ45 coupler and a 1M USB C leads cost £1 - saying that would have saved about 3 mins of this vid - I really appreciate the upload still and look forward to following it when my kit arrives - Thank you

The problem of needing to plug the USB in front can be resolved by having a simple power converter that enabled you to use the PS4 virtual reality port for USB power

They should have rotated the port 90° so it sits flush with the hdd cover on the ps4 pro rather than making it stick out which will be prone to getting cought on things and potentially damaging the ethernet port

@yoshy2628 I'm just theorizing. Anything is possible, it's the assumption that the code is exactly the same on these random Chinese devices that's found on Github. A quick MD5 hash check of the files found on the USB stick would tell you if they're the same or not.

It can be easier for people to run the 9.00 jailbreak with an esp device and be connected to the internet all the time. With 11.00 you have to swap lan cables or switch from lan for jailbreak to wifi for PSLAN for example.

I believe the PSFree webkit exploit works up to 9.60. Some want to stay on that firmware in case it can be utilized in a future exploit. Also, some people are stuck on these firmwares due to broken Blu-ray drives that prevent firmware updates. So it's nice that they're supported.

Ok apart from the shape of itthis seems like a step backwards in that there is no simple switch to change the payload from 11.00 to 9.00 and the only benefit I can see with this is that you can update it if a new jailbreak comes out but surely you could do that via USB on the older model since it is basically just a pico inside or am I missing something? I have just ordered the older version yesterday so maybe I'm just a bit disgruntled over my purchase lol.

After GoldHen loads, you can freely take out LAN Dongle, and put ethernet cable in, then go to settings>network>set up internet connection>Use a LAN Cable>Custom>Automatic>DNS settings (choose automatic)> MTU settings (choose automatic)> Proxy (choose do not use), after that press Test internet connection, and if both says “Successfull” youre good to go, just before all that turn off all automatic updates :)

Beware the jailbreak is NOT permanent. It will remain in-place until the system reboots or loses power, after which it will need to be performed again. Otherwise it will boot with the PS Store intact, and non-disc-based game installations will not work until jailbroken again. The PS4 jailbreak is NOT an installation of any sort, but a means of getting GoldHEN loaded in place of the PS Store. The only permanent aspect of the initial jailbreak run is the part where GoldHEN is dropped onto the internal hard drive, but this is the payload only, NOT the jailbreak process that will get that payload put in place. The jailbreak process itself can be done completely manually; this device is intended to make that process more convenient, so you don't have to get up and fiddle with the console directly after every reboot.

All PS3s up to CECH-21xx are fully hacked. All phats and the very early Slims (60GB, 40GB, 80GB, 120GB, 250GB). CECH-25xx only some are (160GB or 320GB). If you're buying one of these, you'll need more information from the console, a date check underneath it. And anything above that requires HEN. Later slims and super slims. I recommend a CECH-20xx or 21xx because they don't have YLOD and 100% of them support CFW. They all do very good PS2 emulation too, it's not 100% but it's 80% if you have the configs. PS3 and PS1 libaries are 100% compatible.

Yes, you can. I have it connected to the second ethernet port in my PC for game transfer. And with connection sharing set up on my PC, I can download homebrews from the PS4 no problem.

@@paposgsxr No, I don't unplug anything. I have my PS4 Pro connected to my PC via ethernet cable for the purposes of jailbreaking (PPPwn) and regular internet connection. The only things that need to be done is reconfiguring of the PS4 internet connection between PPPOE (for jailbreaking) and regular wired automatic configuration once the jailbreak is complete. In your PC, you need to right click on your network adapter in Network Connections, go to Properties, Sharing tab, and tick the first box to share your PC's network connection with other devices connected to it. Once you do the sharing, you set up the normal internet connection in your PS4 and you can do everything.

I got the exact same model today, problem is though every time the jailbreak is successfully applied instead of sending over the payload, it turns off my PS4 (OG not Pro) Not sure what the issue is, I've followed the guide to make sure it's targeting FW 9.0 and everything. Oh well until I figure it out, or there's some update I can still jailbreak it via the LG TV method.

Same firmware, same problem. When I try to flash it I don't get the same final message ""install to nand successful" that you can clearly see in all these tutorial videos (I checked three different ones) But mine is always "install completed" - no mention of any nand being flashed. I think these devices are hardwired to 11.00 and they can't be flashed. Mine crashes as well and does not work. Remember, these are the same people selling 14TB USB pen drives for 5 euros. If it's true, someone needs to post a 'warning' video.

You need to understand that jailbreaking is NOT permanent. The system will remain jailbroken until it is restarted or fully shut down (Rest Mode will maintain the jailbreak state between play sessions). So if the system has restarted/lost power/crashed, you will need to jailbreak it again. The purpose of this device is to auto-jailbreak the console and drop in GoldHEN on system reboots. If it's not plugged in, the system will boot to its default state, with the PS Store intact, and any games that were NOT installed from a local disc will not run, because those pesky licensing checks are back in place. So no, you don't technically have to keep it plugged in, but if you don't, you'll have to get up and plug it in anyway after a reboot, in order to keep enjoying the GoldHEN advantages.
