Limitations? None. By jailbreaking, you’ll actually have more options open to you. Risks? Account banning. You’ll lose everything associated with that account if Sony chooses to ban you. This includes ALL digital purchases made through that account, and across all platforms associated with that account.

@@ArtLike You cannot be banned, the console does not connect to PSN. If you go online without a DNS block, they can see all the fake games you play but no one has ever been banned for that since, again, you can't really do anything with it. They have a hacker programme ever since the PS3 was busted wide open, as well as the PSP, so with the PS4 and PS5 they demand to be told first, and then it needs to be fixed, and only after a flaw MAY be reported and it MAY turn into a new exploit.

No that wouldn't work as PS4's utilise a special method of determining the highest version of system software installed on the device and tracks this via a special chip independent of the harddrive. Sony likely did this due to the PS3 hacking scene just downgrading the system software, jailbreaking and installing different software that spoofs being up to date. Also even if you do jailbreak a PS4 after rebooting... yes REBOOTING not factory reset but just turning the power off and on the system will remove any os modifications granted you might be able to get some stuff to stick mainly games installed and saves but the jailbreak itself will need to be redone so even if the harddrive of one PS4 did work in another it wouldn't have the jailbreak on it to begin with as any attempts to permanently (often called persistent jailbreak FYI) jailbreak the PS4 have been fruitless and at best a simplified process of automation is the best we can hope for... At least for now anyways.

The only firmwares still supported are 5.05, 6.72, 7.02, 7.55 and 9.00. 5.05 and 9.00 being the best ones by far because of stability.

There are e-fuses in the console that keep track of what version you have updated to. If you ever update, it blows the fuse and then you can never downgrade to a previous version. So it is impossible to downgrade your firmware on Ps4 (at least there's no known way around this, trust me hackers have tried so hard). This is why exploitable PS4s that have purposely not been updated go for inflated prices on eBay.

Thanks! Definitely look for one that is still on OFW 9.00. There's a lot of misinformation floating around on KZbin right now claiming higher versions of OFW can be jailbroken. As of now, they can't. Definitely seek out 9.00.

Once you power off your system, it reverts back to normal because this is not a real jailbreak, it's a soft mod. Try to keep your system in sleep
