Been on a hunt for this for a while, I actually was very surprised when I noticed that Santos Medium was way wearable and more classy than Santos Large. Medium has perfect proportions on the wrist, even in bigger wrists. I aim for the full metal version, with white dial, black indexes and blue hands. Super classy.

I could wear the Santos Medium every day. Except for black tie or when exercising, it looks nice with any outfit!

A few things: 1. There was already a Santos Dumont line which was available together with the Santos 100. 2. The current Santos de Cartier is water resistant up to a 100m but DOES NOT HAVE a screw-down crown. 3. Additional trivia, the original Santos have rivets instead of exposed screws. Hope this helps.

Great discussion on the Santos and its variants. Picked up the black lacquer bezel version and cant put it down....but now I think I need one on steel bracelet for the tech embedded therein...love the rivets on the bracelet and self sizing ability.

I went into cartier looking to get the tank francaise but came out with the santos de cartier. The sales rep made a good argument. She did her job well haha. In house movement, 100m water resistance, easy change links, not to mention it historically came out first. Either watch looks good to me but i only had permission to get one 😂

I have a question for you: do you have a quartz watch in your collection? Great video. I have a Tank XL 😂

Because of one of your previous Cartier Santos Videos, I purchased my Cartier Santos Carree "Or Massiff" - love it. Thanks for the vid.

1. It's Square. 2. It's French. 3. Some old Brazilian pilot had one. 4. Lots of variations. 5. You need one.

True square alternatives to Santos : Bell and Ross BR 05 line up with is more urban, than BR 3 March Lab AM2 line up Of course Patek Philip Cubitus Maybe JLC Reverso Alternatives you mention are worth it but not really in the topic. We are far from iconic square watches.

I have a Tank Americaine. I heard Warhol didn't wind his Cartier but just wore it as jewelry. And the new Patek Cubitus is just a rip-off of the Santos.

I’d go for the Santos instead that awful Rolex Datejust. I cannot stand that date bubble!

I uses to want a Santos since it's a beautiful watch but the power reserve is way too low, movement is just okay, and the depreciation is too high. I'll stick with buying more Rolexes even if I have to wait.
@20f12421 сағат бұрын
That's why I bought it on the gray market. I also really don't care much about depreciation 🤷
@2GoodLookin20 сағат бұрын
@20f124 yeah you might not but most others do.

Just buy it used

Power reserve is my least concern. If you wear it daily/only watch then the power reserve doesnt matter. If you switch multiple watches, it allows the watch to power down and take a break. Either way works for me. If it bothers you too much get a winder. Depreciation only matters if you plan on reselling the watch. Thats a valid concern for sure, but doesnt apply to me either im a hoarder 😂

😂 Lol go ahead, make a video about why Cartier quality is poor. I own both JLC and Cartier, two different but both fantastic brands.

The first thing to know before buying it is don’t buy it.

Great watch, but does not hold up. The santos is a scratch magnet.

Correct, but only the bezel and i've learned to live with it😂

What these so called watch experts are talking about! Have any of you owned a santos n seen it with your eyes for more than a couple of hours? I don’t know how much they pay all these KZbinrs but Santos from quality to finish is soooo poor I would tell everyone stay away from this fashion brand I know Chinese watch brands(zelos etc) that do a better job at fit, finish and refinement. Honestly save your money everyone and buy a JLC Reverso instead. Now that is high horology.
