Hey lovelies! I wanna do a "Q&A get to know me" (personally) / "assumptions about me" video! Drop your questions/assumptions below no matter how wacky 😂 and I will answer/react to them all in a video!

(hello, new subscriber and I'm about to start my braid loc journey in a month or so)I just want to know, what do you do to control frizz on your locs ?
@kerrybellum3 жыл бұрын
@@nethaniapierre8149 hi Nethania welcome! On camera it doesn't show, but when you see me in person my locs are sooo frizzy! I've only been able to control them for more than a few hours by doing a braidout, but I don't do that too often cause my hair is so light that it might slow the locking process. But frizz is normal, especially when locs are young. As locs mature, that frizz will become part of the loc. Even notice that mature locs have no frizz at all? That's the reason. I'll also answer your question in the Q&A video for the benefit of others who want to know as well

I've started my locs, bigger than microlocs but small because I have low density, fine hair and it's 4C type! Plus I didn't part my hair but took pieces and twisted - in order to get more locs - so I don't have a grid! Thanks for your tips!! Have a wonderful day

Dare Jones, I did the same thing too because of thinning hair in some areas of my head. Just grabbed small pieces - no grid! I ended up with 150 locs (approx.) How many do you have?

@@allisonbw1876 I started with braids because I didn't want to deal with too much unraveling and it has worked out well for me. Minimal frizz and unraveling. I am 14 months in.

I really liked this video I’m 8 months in and I have traditional locs I thought that these tips can be applied to any form of locs. I don’t do oils in my hair it makes me hair itchy I mainly use water and rose water. I can’t do styles the guy that does it styles it and I take it out 2-3 days later. I can’t deal with any strain to my scalp. I workout 3-4 times a week for the most part I just let me hair be grey hairs and all. I think that is the best tip leave your hair be and stop with over manipulating of your locs.
@kerrybellum3 жыл бұрын
I agree! I've seen many persons with traditional locs avoid all the heavy oils and butters and just let their hair go free!

and girl the comparison can harm the health 🥲🥲🥲 This is not related to my locs but when lace wigs first came out I took up my bright self and go damage my edges (my edges grew farther out than other peoples). Had I just stuck with my locs the way they were I would not have damaged my hair trying to make it be other peoples. I started a new journey

Loc envy! Come on, we can do better than that! Just be yourself and leave others to themselves. Envy of any kind is so corrosive to the spirit. And what's this thing about counting locs?? Someone had the nerve to tell me I didn't have SLs because I had less than 400 locs! Gimme a GD break!

I do have dry scalp and the only thing that has helped me is washing my hair once a week with shampoo that has tea tree oil added. The tea tree oil has antifungal properties and washing my hair more frequently helps keep down scalp buildup that causes flakiness

How do you know if the oil is heavy
@kerrybellum3 жыл бұрын
Heavier oils are thicker and more viscous for example Jamaican black castor oil. A lighter oil by comparison would be olive or coconut oil. With locs, I would recommend using any type of oils very sparingly
