I believe when going to or returning to Jamaica to live, unless you're at high level in your field, go with the mindset of creating a small business that is scalable and providing employment to locals. Going back to become an employee isn't such a good idea for several reasons.

Don't skirt around it, who wants to work in Jamaica? $86 American dollars a month. If we are going to live there, we had better be retired or working online. Vacation yes, live? Hell to the no!

Lots of people, Jamaican’s included build lucrative lives in Jamaica - there’s a lot of factors to it but people typically assume to get employment when they move to other countries so we just want people to be knowledgeable starting off.
