I literally created my IG and KZbin April of this year. While I haven’t blown up, I’m now working with an artist who’s backed by mtv, working with another artist who’s currently touring, and I’ve got two engineers who I have worked with Grammy nominated artist. I got 43 songs since 2018 and still on 300 monthly listeners on Spotify. I agree I am not the best marketer but my IG looks professional and my songs are professional. I spend on FB ads because that s all I can do with my budget, I dont have money for proper music videos. I honestly dont know what to do differently.

As a debuting musician, I am grateful for you offering this perspective. I experience a continuous struggle to maintain the temporal linearity of building up to big accomplishments. It's easy to start submitting to big names, but today instead, I used my friend's referral to pitch a series of neighborhood cafe gigs so I can hone my presentation. If we only look at the peaks, we could miss our next step on the way. It must be frustrating from your position, because you obviously want to help artists, but for example you couldn't know what my contacts and opportunities are right now. But you are still offering guidance on what may come between this next step and those peaks, so thanks.

Artists need to understand that your music is a product and your image and personality solidify the product. People need to know about your life and see how you fit into your product. In this day and age you have to make a lottttt of content to keep their attention and draw them in. Think clips of the song and live version and a lyric video etc. anything that leads people to your song. It is very important on social media you put as many relevant hash tags to your posts that way it suggests your video to people who watch videos with the same hashtags. You will see an incredibly higher rate of interaction and likes on videos that you hashtag a lot on.

I received a Masters degree with Distinction in Arts marketing about a decade ago which means it's about a decade out of date!! :-) The Dream Debut used to be my fictitious backing band but we now exist as an entity thanks to my falling in love with an Italian keyboard wizard and orchestral arranger (We are together because of Cozy Powell). I have 6 months to relearn music promotion NOW before we release (Showing my age as we have no intention of ever "dropping" ) our 1st album AS a band, and I'd REALLy love you to do a feature on breaking a band of eeeeermm....."mature" musicians! I was just thinking about this tune i'm going to release through Distrokid soon, and i was thinking of leaving a small bridge section with no lyrics and putting it on youtube with the idea of people who like the tune to fill in the lyrics and the one i chose i will give 50% of the royaltys to. ..... 7:20 I've just started to re-release my music under a proper artist name as I didn't use to have one + used to release mixed genres, from EDM to rock, under my personal name (which I've now separated into proper different projects). With that in mind, earlier today I created a Muso campaign for my next single, and to my surprise I received 14-17 offers within 24 hours, some surprisingly decent ones. For somebody who's never used Muso before I would totally recommend it for an unsigned indie artist who wants to test our stuff. Worst case scenario you're out of $30 bucks. Totally worth in my opinion it if you have the drive, creativity and productivity to follow through. Are there other services similar to Muso peeps wanna recommend here?

I have a suggestion to improve your videos. You’ll see KZbin chapters. For example in this video you could make one chapter per tip an introduction chapter and a conclusion chapter. Just an example. It would be in your description but allow people to easily go back to the part of the video they wanna watch. This would be great as your videos are very reference base and some musicians may want to reference it at any time. But they may not exactly know where any video it is.

Stop giving examples of Major Label artists aka Charlie Puth, the guy isn't starting from scratch. Most of us don't have the promo money or Major label push that these artists already had. Not like Charlie Puth hadn't released hit songs before, he already had a good fanbase etc. People very rarely can do this right now, get people involved on a verse challenge on tik tok and do that with no fanbase. You're talking about artists who've been brands for years. Totally unrealistic.

Also, easy for non artists aka you two, to tell artists what to do to make it. If you're so good then make some songs and get a career with the knowledge and connections you have. You're basing your success based off of the legwork that actual artists have already done and then they come to you. PR in this day and age is a shadow career for what you can't actually do, and it's a money grab.

You gotta understand, people as much as they want to seem friendly they will not change their views on other people just for their clients. Andrew Tate is making things happen marketing - wise so he is a good model to follow not by strictly listening to him but by observing his techniques
@CalAndAly
@CalAndAly Жыл бұрын
@@blejzing sure that’s obvious, but anyone giving advice to artists should be aware and responsible of how you can and will be perceived without what would have been an easy disclaimer or few word clarification. “I’m not an Andrew Tate ‘Stan’, but he was right about etc” Also, Tate wasn’t a brilliant marketeer. He literally blew things up on socials because he shamelessly used his pyramid scheme to start fan accounts and repost. His brand is built off of shock factor misogyny, now that he’s been deplatformed, he has nothing and fumbles around apologies like a lost child on Tucker Carlson. I doubt our guy is a Tate fan, but just take another half sentence to clarify that he personally isn’t. Or at least lie lol
@CalAndAly
@CalAndAly Жыл бұрын
@@blejzing This podcast is literally marketing for their business, so whatever they believe privately is their own business, but what they say publicly no doubt can very well affect their bottom line. I’m good friends with someone who called out Brittany Aldean a couple weeks ago which blew up all major news outlets. They’ve both gotten death threats and massive swings in their followings and will effect ticket sales and streams.
@blejzing
@blejzing Жыл бұрын
@@CalAndAly when he's cancelled it's irrelevant because you can't really support him directly, he has no official profile other than Rumble, biggest politicians are looking up to H*tler and Stalin, morality isn't mixed with ability to make things happen like Tate did. He didn't use misogyny, man himself said that women are the most valuable beings on Earth, he's always talking about traditional gender roles and clips of him joking about stuff or him being misogenic out of context made him famous because it indeed shocks people when you see for example clip of Tate calling women "hoes" but behind that clip is like a 30s when he separates valuable and non-valuable women and proceeds to call non-valuable ones "hoes". People are making an antagonist from him because they want clicks on their clips of Tate and they want reaction from people, it isn't Tate's fault really.

Guys sorry to ask on here, but I've mailed you on Playlist Hunter itself and also your Instagram profile - I've been paying for Playlist Hunter for a year now, and you've not upgraded me to the Premium Service - could I please be reimburstimo'd, and, more importantly - could you upgrade me please? It's for the azabrown profile. Other than that, thanks for your great content
