As a new artist Soundcloud has been a great platform to host demos, private tracks, and just quickly get new songs uploaded on to there. Would love to see it get a resurgence and audience like it had 10 years ago!

I'm very into soundcloud lately, taking the platform more into my strategy. The only thing I don't understand about the platform is: why they don't have a simple push notification for your followers when you drop a new track??? this is the only thing I don't like about it...i think is something fixable

Yesss love Soundcloud and Soundcloud for Artists, the route from Reels/Tiktok to Soundcloud especially for the bootlegs and edits is mega. We've seen tracks start as a edits and bootlegs that have grown on Soundcloud, then the 'unclearable' sample has been cleared and signed. You can deffo still track the plays of people on PRO and its great for sending demos to labels cos then you can see if the label has listened to your track. If don't hear back from the label then you can assume its a no on your demo, so useful.

This video was super helpful with hidden tips hidden throughout! Soundcloud is the OG ive gained 140k streams so far this year but havent had monetization on which I regret.
@MORRILL_MUSIC10 ай бұрын
I switched on monetization but quickly realized I would only be able to monetize my original music because any remixes or bootlegs would need permission from the original artist to monetize. That kinda defeats the whole purpose of soundcloud being the cool streaming service with less rules. Of course the remixes are what get the big streams but cant profit anything on that.

Interesting conversation, Burstimo! On the production side, SC and its culture have always played a huge role in (most) genres the team is helpful, distribution & monetization is simple, insights are detailed, and the feedback is intense! i've discovered nearly all my favorite artists on there, artwork and branding were definitely big factors !! 👀 it's ridiculous how much incredibly raw talent there is just sitting on the site, its a great place to learn n collaborate

Thank you for organizing this interview, Burstimo... I know what I have to do now! You see, I have this song I wrote, then I had 2 producers condition it for the clubs; I have promoted other tracks before on SoundCloud, but I think I'll have better results with this clubbing track, when I run Ads on SoundCloud Promote. Because Hope Hale enlightened me that such tracks do better on SoundCloud! Happy days! 🥰

the stage is kind of set for soundcloud to make a comeback. artists are more and more realizing streaming platforms are a scam. most dont make any money from spotify, apple, or tidal. a lot of people still use youtube for music. soundcloud is easier, faster, and makes more sense for an artist that isn't making much from streaming anyway

Soundcloud needs to get real, the rap industry clearly ran through it and got what it needed, now focus back on the electronic artists and communities that built soundcloud up to what it is today and not keep grasping at the coattails of an industry who doesnt need ot give a shit about the platform lol. bring groups back, you want more community? give the control of the community back to the artists.... seems simple enough...

So what's the approach to gain traction on SC if you have absolutely no infrastructure? I.e. you load a track, and it will not be heard, get reposts, etc. This seems like it's a good set up for artists with some minimal support, but if you don't get traction within a day of posting, then what?
