great work! I am also an independent artist with over 100000 listeners and real like the advice here about thinking about staying independent, even when you have a lot of listeners.

The US is drafting a bill that may ban TikTok. What platform do you think will be best to focus on then?

I love these videos! They are very informative and helpful for me. I was wondering if you have a video on what to do "after" getting traction on tik tok and spotify? I just passed 200,000 total streams on Spotify(which I am extremely grateful and blown away by how amazing my audience has been) But I'm struggling to know what to do next? All I do is make music in my room and post it to tik tok and such. I dream of playing live shows and touring around, but I'm not sure what the next step should be. Do you have a video that might could give me some direction? Any and all suggestions are much appreciated! 🙏

Maybe start collecting emails from your supporters by building a website for yourself or creating a newsletter. This way you can funnel everyone directly into your supporter/fanbase and take it from there.

If you want to play live shows look into your statistics (IG/Tiktok and Spotify) and see where most your listeners are from. Then book a show at the city where there is a lot of them. That way you'll get into playing your first live show. (your comment is 8 months old, how is it going? Maybe you have played live by now!)

I’ve got to be one of the few ppl that 99/100 do not like pitched up or sped up versions of songs. All I hear is Alvin and the chipmunks. Somehow I have no problem w pitched down stuff though. Idk. We all have unique ears n taste I guess. Is there a name or community that likes the downtuned/slowed version of songs?

I still don’t believe in the “in any genre” thingy. I don’t see much progressive rock bands/artists like Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree etc. make use of that platform. Correct me if I’m wrong but it seems to me that Tik Tok is pretty much music genre-locked…:)

And how much do you make from 2.5 million listeners? About 10 bucks? What’s the point?

.0033 per stream on Spotify so assuming every person streamed her at least once she can make at least 8,000 a month on Spotify

we discuss Facebook as that's how Chloe found her audience initially if you watch in full, you'll see why she moved off of Facebook to different platforms and we'd suggest doing the same as the organic reach is now so low
