I love all your videos talking about otoplasty, I got my 10 days ago, and the doctor told me to wear the head wrap for a month, and they told me not to clean them with any excep water! So, I'm confused

Dr. Patel, I had an otoplasty 4 days ago, and after I took my bandages off I noticed my ears are not pinned symmetrically. One ear is pinned back further than the other. Is this common? Or was my otoplasty botched? (Otoplasty was performed in Texas, not with Dr. Patel if anyone happens to stumble upon this comment)

They usually will be a little asymmetric because they were before. We always try our best but since the ears are physically positioned differently on your head its impossible to get perfect symmetry for most!

Great info!

So if they have to remove or reshape the ear no sleep? Or being sedated?
@SPAFacialPlastics Жыл бұрын
Yep! I do this surgery all the time. The only reason to be fully asleep is for my younger patients (usually under 9 yrs old) or for those severely claustrophobic or deathly afraid of needles

Twilight sedation is what I was told and the doctor performs 3-5 per month and is double board certified as yourself

@@shanaehughes-s8n 3-5 per month probably means 1-2 per month. Most don't need twilight. If an 8 year old can do it awake (takes 40 minutes) why do you need to get twilight. Its no more difficult than getting your teeth cleaned!
