Great video! I live in Edmonds and you are pretty spot on about it. The nickname is Deadmonds because of all the old people and old money. I like the quiet nature of Edmonds compared to the others near by.

I think the biggest reason for that nickname was because there was absolutely nothing to do until about 2010. Especially for young people, it was just really boring. So, the young people named it deadmonds. But it’s pretty busy and filled with shops and events now. Nobody calls it that anymore.

@@Greatpacificnorthwesterner Pretty spot on observation. I have been here since 2000 and the last couple years the downtown area by Main and 5th has really changed a lot! I was talking to a friend that we are like a mini version of Ballard with all our food choices.

@ Yeah. I worked there for years and would go on walks with my best friend. We went on so many walks because there was truly nothing else to do. Not now! There is so much to do. But unfortunately, it’s got so much traffic, I think it’s more dangerous for everybody (more pedestrians get hit by cars now). Parking is awful. It’s just overcrowded and totally Ballard part II. But the food is great and the coffee is greater! And it’s still so incredibly beautiful, especially in early spring.

I live here AND I 💯. No fun, super super expensive. Edmonds has a lot of work. I do love the beach. We do have some haunted places.
