I have the exact same car and color and clue how to fix the vsa light ?
@CarRepairsMadeSimple3 жыл бұрын
I would get an OBD-II scanner or take your car to autozone and see what check engine light codes your car has. That will tell you what’s wrong with your vehicle. The OBDII scanner will let you easily reset codes too if you buy one.

I have a scanner nothing is coming up lol

Cabin air filter is a great one. During the last trip to my dealer, every waiting customer that was called up was told their cabin air filters need replacing. I'm sure it's something even many enthusiasts neglect. Steering wheel is a good tip too. I actually just drive with gloves to help preserve the wheel and surfaces, even though it makes me look funny. Let's see, anything I can recommend... Cleaning windows/mirrors is a good one; it impacts visibility quite a bit, but the driver adapts to it as it worsens, so not something one may notice until they get cleaned again. Periodically checking fluids is good too, like window washer fluid (especially in the winter!).

Great tips! I know I myself have run out of washer fluid on more than one occasion! Cleaning the windows is also a good one! And cleaning them properly without any remaining streaks or residue on top of that

Wow those subwoofers! Have you replaced anything else in the sound system? Curious because my 03 TL could definitely use some better speakers.
@CarRepairsMadeSimple3 жыл бұрын
I love my subs haha nah everything is completely stock and still sounds pretty good IMO including the stereo, Bose door speakers, and Bose subwoofer. Back in 2012, I bought a custom aftermarket AUX cable that connects to the back of the stereo, and then of course my additional subs in the back! I would recommend parts-express.com, that's an awesome speaker website.

@@CarRepairsMadeSimple I didn’t know you could add extra subwoofers and still use the stock one too! Thank you 👍

Is your CD player still working properly? Mine is acting up.
@CarRepairsMadeSimple3 жыл бұрын
I've honestly never even used it. When I bought the car the previous owner said to be careful because he had CDs get stuck and needed the dealer to remove them. So I bought a custom aftermarket AUX cable that hooks up to the back of the stereo and always just used that.

@@CarRepairsMadeSimple oh ok. I didn’t want to swap out the head unit, but I bought a spare one on eBay for parts. I’ve seen a video on how to fix it. Thanks for your videos, they’re really helpful. I’m going to do the tranny filter and try to do as much preventative maintenance. The lady I bought it from was the Original owner. And took it to Acura for everything.

Jose Ruiz sweet deal! The guy I got my car from was the same way, took it to Acura for every single maintenance interval, kept paper records of literally everything. Congrats on your new car! Keep up on the maintenance and it’ll last you 300k+ miles easy!

@@JoseRuiz-up1nf Man I’ve had soooo many problems with the 6 CD changer... Sometimes disconnecting the battery does the job, sometimes hitting the side of it hard fixes it, too. Ultimately I rolled the dice and bought a stock replacement one on eBay and it works okay... for now.

Hi, I have a 2003 and with 180K on it. Your video has been a great help. The acceleration on it isn't what it used to be, I press the gas it SLOWLY accelerates, do you think the fuel injectors needs to be cleaned?
@CarRepairsMadeSimple3 жыл бұрын
It could be a number of things. You could start with checking to make sure all your oils and fluids are clean and not over/under filled. If your spark plugs are older than 105000 miles old, and if your engine air filter is more than 30000 miles old, those should be changed. If you have an OBD2-II scanner, check for any active or pending check engine light codes. Lastly I would recommend trying an ECU reset by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 5 minutes. Give those a try first!

Hello. Recently my mom was driving my 02 tl type s and asked me should she use d4 or d5. I always use d5 when driving but im not really sure thats the correct gear for regular around town driving. Any suggestions? Thanks.
@CarRepairsMadeSimple3 жыл бұрын
Use D5 for everyday driving. All D4 is going to do is prevent the car from shifting into 5th gear, just like D3 will prevent the car from shifting into 4th or 5th gear. Some examples of when to use these are for engine braking while driving down a long steep hill so your brakes don't wear out, overheat, and fail.

@@CarRepairsMadeSimple thanks been doing it right, :). Looking forward to more videos. Oh also replaced the canister, solenoid for canister and throttle body (used) on my nephews 99 tl. Cleared all the codes and its running great, about 290,000 miles. I also cleaned the intake manifold really good when it was off and alot of loose black carbon came out. Crazy. Going to change cabin air filters on them both. Thanks again. Carck
