I ws looking for a metallic paint that wasn't terribly gaudy gold and shiny. This video helped me discover Golden Paints metallics and I got samples of the Just Brass and Cashmere colors. I can't tell you how easy they were to work with, how much pigment was in each of them and how beautiful they turned out. These tips were also extremely helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

If going for a metal like surface, so as smooth as possible would you recommend a foam brush or a regular paint brush. The wood I'm painting is less than 2 inches , wood frame. I was going to use either a foam brush or roller and then hit it with a clear coat to get the gold bar look. Can anyone help?

Hi Alicia. That color is called "Pewter" in the Golden Paintworks metallic paint line

Loving that grey look. What was used on the walls and what was used for the trim?

I trowel-applied 3 coats of venetian plaster color "Weathered Zinc" on the wall and 2 coats of metallic paint colored "Pewter" on the trim. Makes for a nice contrast.

@@Deandun101 I'm going to try doing this look when I'm ready to start painting....Pewter will look nice on the trim, it's my color...all my furniture is pewter!

That is troweled GPW Venetian Plaster. Color: 219 Weathered Zinc

Question, if you’re redecorating a room and the room has metallic paint, how do you paint over it to normal paint

Metallic paint can easily be painted over with a standard wall/trim paint. As with most re-painting projects, best practice would be to use a quality primer first and then your wall paint or trim color of choice. Thanks for your question.

But for a flawless, evenly distributed metallic glaze over a freshly painted satin finish wall, you are best to spray the glaze on evenly to make sure you get an even coat without brush marks.

I made the mistake of cutting with a brush and after one coat of rolling, the difference between the brush strokes and roller is very noticeable! What can I do to correct this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Use a 4" roller up against the trim. That is covered in the video "How to Apply Metallic Paint to Walls".

you have to work quick as it dries faster than normal paint.

Actually there is an extender in the paint which keeps it wet longer than regular latex paint. That doesn't mean you can dawdle tho'.😉
