Question! What do you think is the most difficult part of listening to an English speaker? Not recognising words? An unfamiliar accent? Fast-talking native speakers? Or something else? Share with me 👇

I've been training my listening for 5 months and now I can comprehend Native speakers and even faster, and some contractions, so this come-in handy lesson got me some tips to keep going with my listening abilities. So thank you so much, Emma, for what you are doing for all of us, that's much appreciated. A huge hug from Colombia.

"Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you don't feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day!"💞😘💞😘💞😘💞😘

Hi, Emma! I’ve just started listening audible while reading “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time” (yes! One of your recommendations!) since yesterday. I’m glad to tell you that it’s a whole new experience and I’m enjoying it! Thanks, Emma! Your last tip of today’s lesson is new to me, so I’ll try it on the weekend. Answering your question… to be honest, it is sometimes difficult for me to understand when I listen to children’s talk. I’m not sure why. Maybe the vowels are not clear? Well, in my real life, I don’t have any opportunity to talk to children in person, so I’m not in trouble, but I think this is the area I can improve (but of course I won’t imitate them! Now I only imitate your accent to make strong basics) Thank you for inspiring me as always. Stay safe and have a lovely week❤️

Hi Emma! I use your lessons when I study and practice my English, especially my pronunciation. They help me a lot! I tried to listen to Ted Talks. Some of them are really difficult to understand because of so many new words and expressions, linking, reduced forms. But I don't give up and continue listening to different audio on KZbin. As you said, it's definitely is going to be something that pays off in the long term.

Thank you for the five listening skill improving tips. What I found effective, and I practice it for some time, is to write what you hear technique. To do this my aid is the "One-minute World News" on the BBC News homepage. There one can listen to three or four short recent news in one minute, each is two or three sentences. I choose one of the news, listen to it, rewind and listen to it again, reduce the speed if needed, and write down what I've understood. If there were words I couldn't get, I try to deduce them from the context. There is no subtitle option. I recommend it to everyone!

In addition, so today I just saw your video and I realised that what a right time to view this video because it will help me a lot to improve my listening skills from general point of view and also which I can apply the same techniques for my listening part of the exam. BTW 'Write what you hear' technique is the best of all. You are the real saviour of my life. One request can you please make a video in the same way for speaking, writing, and reading skills also. Omg this is so genius. THIS IS JUST WHAT I WANTED. Please keep up uploading videos. These lesson are just what people need and these lesson are important and interesting. These lesson can be really interesting to the people who are interested at English And also most of the other teachers teaching is boring and awful to hear, But there are only 25% of teachers who are teaching like this, fun to learn, not boring. I have a speech competition coming up after 2 weeks I have a problem, when I am on the stage and when I see the audience I get scared and shy. But when I tell a sentence I keep getting ideas about the topic Example - My best friend is the topic. And when I tell a sentence about my best friend then I keep getting so many ideas and I don't know where to stop, It is a HUGE problem for me, Please help me out with my problem And one last thing is can people please appreciate the effect Emma is putting for her videos? @@davesmith6436 how was your journey of Italy? It was super, huh? I met three nice Americans to communicate. They are very kind with me like you. They correct my mistakes as you. How about the Covid-19 situation in Europe? Maybe very serious, huh?

Hi Emma! Thanks for this lesson!🌷💕In my opinion the most difficult thing of listening is fast-talkIng native speakers especially when some words are put together as if they turn into one long word that I have never heard.
