I was littertly searching this exact video, because I'm doing a 30 day photography challenge that needs me to capture a long exposure shot today. Such a coincidence that you uploaded this today, thanks!

Very useful tips Ari, well done!! I always use the tripod for my work in the fields and the closest attempt for a long exposure "movement" type effect handheld is the panning method.

Yes. For landscapes I would also go with a tripod. I like the sharpness of the image and flow of a river or clouds you can get with long exposures. For street though you can be a little more flexible I guess. I haven't done any panning actually for a video. Maybe I should try this in the near future! Thanks for watching Thano!

Great tips but one issue, if you’re using a friend as a subject the that wouldn’t be Street Photography would it? Unless you shot it candidly of course. Nightmare trying to watch these videos when I’m in bed, not just your videos but quite a lot. Basically I have to keep the volume up to hear you but then when the music starts it’s too loud so I have to turn it down quickly or it wakes my wife, never a good idea waking a woman when she’s knackered🤣

That is a good question. There is a debate about that but if we exclude these kind of photos from being street photography then a lot of the "old fathers" of street photography are not in fact street photographers. You will be surprised how many of the classic street photography photos of the past that are very famous today were actually staged. I agree with you though. I prefer my street photos to be 100% candid. However, if someone wants to do this kind of photos they can practise with a friend first. That was kind of my point. My apologies to your wife Brian!😂
