I know these are general tips but I hope they serve as a good reminder for you to keep going whatever phase or level you are at. Just like English or any other languages, Korean no longer belongs to Korean people alone. It is a tool shared by so many learners and speakers, not just in Korea but outside Korea as well. So there’s no one fixed rule in how you learn and use the language. Nor is there a finish line in your learning journey. So take it easy and have fun, and always be open to learning more (: Here's the time link to each advice: #1 : 0:44 #2 : 3:01 #3 : 4:56 #4 : 5:52 #5 : 7:12 Thank you for watching!

Can I just say, how blessed I am that I found your channel? Because you're so good at teaching that it felt like my brain is just absorbing stuffs! (not that Im good with hangeul now) Its just that you somehow make it sound easy and very understandable. And not to mention, you are so eloquent when it comes to speaking in English! You're perfect! Please continue making videos, especially grammars and how you create sentences and how you combine sentences because that's where I really get lost. Anyways, thank you so much again for the effort. You're an angel and I hope you stay healthy and driven and I hope we become friends here. 정말 갑사합니다,선생님!🥰

I've been interested in korean culture since I was very young and thanks to that I got to learn about the culture and everything at a young age. My boyfriend is Korean and what stresses me is that I might never "sound" native when speaking korean because I'm only at a beginner intermediate level which I think will disappoint him and his family. I read and write in Korean in a very fast pace (even faster than in English) but even tho I listen to native Koreans for more than 70% of my day for maybe 8 years I still can't seem to sound native. I know it seems silly to want to sound native but I'm doing this for my boyfriend and our future. I want to sound native when speaking Korean so he won't feel like there is a huge language barrier or that he is forced to use a language he's not too comfortable using. But thank you so much I will use all of your tips to try and reach my very high goals.

Don't put that much pressure on yourself! You're doing 90% of the job by learning his language and culture and I'm sure that if he loves you he appreciates that :) also, small language barriers are not necessarily a bad thing, accents are cute and misunderstandings sometimes lead to funny situations (and we always need a laugh on a daily basis!). 화이팅!

Okay so I’m a newer learner (still haven’t really gotten down the alphabet) but I want to tell everyone who is learning something and it’s actually what my Volleyball coach taught me and my team and it goes I refuse to be average because anybody can do that. Instead I choose to be remarkable, I take on the mindset of the extraordinary and so I am remarkable. What I mean by “I refuse to be average” is that you should shoot for the stars and not just settle at being “average” because then you are missing out on so many other opportunities!

One important thing while learning a language, not just Korean Is to learn the cultural background of the people who use that language and how language is used among natives. Language is not just rules, it's how language is used. Interesting tips indeed.

I like to do things that I am either good at or can get good at reasonably quickly so learning Korean has really humbled me! I have had to get comfortable with not being good right now and I am getting better at this by keeping in mind that I will be really good one day :) I know that the hard work I put into this process will pay off - I am already so proud of the progress I have made so far.

It'll be a really foreign concept for those that haven't learnt any second language, but a journey to mastering a language is really a lifelong one. You need to get used to the vast amount of new vocabularies, new grammar rules that your native language might not have, and even after mastering those two, understanding a context or meaning behind the meaning which varies according to the culture to some extent, will take quite a while

More than tips to learn a new language, these are life lessons that you can incorporate in any area of your life, the satisfaction to achieve your own goals based solely on your efforts is greater than anything else other people may give it to you for free, also, being able to communicate and learn a new culture it forces you to get out of your own boxed mindset, to fully understand why people have different lifestyles, especially if you move to that country.

Languages are hard. I learnt english in school for 12 years but since then nothing extra effort has been made. BUT I watch every serial and YT video and movie I can in english. And I'd say I understand 90% of the words and can follow along even if there are some technical terms. Do I speak english in a high level? No, because most of my interactions with the language is in a passive manner, but I'm pretty sure every native speaker understands me and can overlook my mistakes. They can fill in the holes and that's enough. Could I learn more? Obviously but I find it more important to learn HOW does one uses the language nowadays. What are the common words, phrases and so on. And one more thing, everyone makes mistakes even native speakers. Don't ever get discouraged, speaking a language (even your own) is fricking hard and a miracle! (Just think about it, you translate ideas from your mind into other peoples minds... magical.)

I live in Germany, my mum is Italian though She had German in school but had reaaaaally bad grades, her teacher told her that she couldn't do it 30 years later and my Mum doesn't have any sign of an accent (sometimes very rarely a grammar mistake but less than some German natives make) and writes books and scripts for German Television Sometimes she wishes she could go back to that teacher and show her that she- indeed- was able to do it Native Germans assume she is a native as well and she speaks the language better than I do - and I fully grew up in Germany. Maybe it's because Korean is harder, but I do think that with a lot of work (and maybe some talent) you could actually get on a natives level

I find it easier to study Korean when you study the language’ history. It’s similar to an amalgamation of Mandarin and Japanese. If you know the root words in Hanja/Hanzi/Kanji remembering the words are easier. After all it was once written entirely in Hanja. I think the loss of Hanja made it a bit more difficult to study it.

its not too often when im studying Korean that i find something i dont understand. That being said, when i do run into something that difficult for me, i find that even Korean natives cant even explain it. Theres a big difference between someone who teaches Korean as a foreign language as a profession, and someone who happens to be a native Korean speaker. Native Koreans can tell you "what" but often times cant tell you "why". They dont really study Korean the same way that we do. They just use the language. just because you use a car everyday, doesn't mean you know how it works in every possible way for example. Theres a lot about English that i find it hard to explain or different grammar structures in English that i didnt know about (yet i still use them out of habit) overall i dont think Korean is overly difficult compared to other languages but like any language, its time consuming. When you underestimate how long it takes to get Good at Korean or any other language it appears to be difficult.

Comedy is the hardest thing to translate between languages. It's got more to do with subtle, cultural context. Heck, even native tongue speakers don't get jokes in their own language sometimes. If Koreans continue to create such high quality kdrama like Chimera and Kairos (hehe had to slip in my favorites) I, as well as many other people around the world, will strive to learn Korean for listening

You said that if you do not live in Korea you will not be able to master the language completely, but I see many idols from China and Thailand who speak Korean fluently as if they are Koreans

Well that's true to all languages, example, us Filipinos there are many words that only us know. There are many foreigners including the Koreans fluent in Filipinos that still don't know our native slangs.
