Great tips! You and your Locs looks amazing!!! LOL @ "cool water seals the follicle" Girl I know you meant hair cuticle but it's all good. My summer and always tip is to wear a Du-Bag at night to keep your hair moisturized because the summer sun is blazing! xo

Thanks for the tips! I never thought about washing with cold water. I need to get on that misting too. One of my summer tips is keeping hair away from face and off neck. It helps to keep me cool when it's hot outside.

Hi Brittania, I was seriously considered letting my sisterlocks go!! just letting my nappy hair grow out and going natural!! For some reason I'm getting alot of breakage, from the root my hair would start thinning until the lock would be hanging by a few hairs!! I dont know what is causing it, sooooooo I went to my stylist and she charged me $700!! to regrid the pattern! And let me add the whole head wasn't finished. Only to wash my hair after 3 weeks and they all come out!! I cant afford to have them put back in!! I was loving ,my journey, my hair grew pass my shoulders the longest it has ever been!! I looked at your tutourals and thought you might have some suggestions. Your hair is Beautiful!!

Hi hun, I just wanted to give you sine advice from when I started my sisterlocks...the sisterlocks starter shampoo helped me out tremendously...i also learned to try and keep all the products out of my hair...i really don't use anything during the summer aside from my own water soluble concoctions, but just tri for like3 months to not use anything in your hair...try not to wash your hair too much, maybe once every 8 days...abd try the starter shampoo...you can order it online from sisrerlocks.com....it will make your hair alot drier, but just drink plenty of water, and your body will be able to replenish itself from the oils that you aren't putting in it

I've had my locks for 10 weeks now. I'm sure you've done you're research, but just make sure you're educated on the process of the install and the phases your locks will go through. As long as you're comfortable with your consultant and trust them you should be good. Be familiar enough with the process to "kinda" know if your consultant is deviating from standard procedure and confident enough to speak up and ask about it. It's your head, time and money! You're going to love them.
