The only perk to having poor circulation, I can't melt butter with my hands. So I can take my time working the butter and it doesn't even stick to my hands because I'm always cold 😂😂

Anytime you cut out scones or biscuits with something like a biscuit cutter, make sure you cut really fast, because if you don't the cuts can make it harder for the dough to rise

If scones taste like what I'm imagining then they probably would be really good dipped in milk. If I remember correctly they taste like sugar cookies but they have a more crunchy and bread like texture.

Short bread is sweeter and hard. A scone tastes similar to an american biscuit
@violetskies14
@violetskies14 2 жыл бұрын
Like the person before me said they're softer than shortbread but they are crumbly, although not too crumbly you should be able to take a bite without it disintegrating, they should be moist not dry and apparently they are similar to American biscuits. Don't try American scones or an American recipe (Jenelles tips are good though) because they tend to be too sweet, dry, and they seem to usually have icing on for some reason. You traditionally eat scones with jam and clotted cream which is half way between heavy cream and butter and extremely delicious but if you can't get it then whipped cream and jam or butter and jam are also yummy. You usually have them with a berry jam like strawberry, raspberry, or blackcurrant. My favourite is raspberry because it's a little tart. Hope you get to try them!
@emmakp4787
@emmakp4787 2 жыл бұрын
Completely different, shortbread is buttery and crumbly, while scones are much fluffier and have no distinct flavour notes, hence why we add jam and cream! I’m Australian but assuming they’re similar to the biscuits in America just less flakey?
@emmakp4787
@emmakp4787 2 жыл бұрын
@@violetskies14 I agree, simple recipe that consists of 3 cups self easing flour, 1 cup cream and 1 cup lemonade works so well for that fluffy scone !!

They're made differently in other countries. Most of the time it's a self rising flour, bubbly water (outside of the States it's usually called lemonade) and cream, I think that's how my friend makes them. But yeah, the recipes vary depending on the region and what they had on hand
