Thanks for this video! I'm still figuring out my solutions for powering the motors. Do you have any thoughts on why Smallrig's own d-tap to usb-c is limited to 9V output? The specs state that the motors can handle up to 16.8V. Just wondering whether the cable actually needs to have the transformer unit or would a plain cable d-tap to usb-c work.

Love the tips! Have you experienced any wobble or looseness with the handle? Some people have pointed out it has a good amount of 'play' where the mount connects to the handle, so it might introduce jitters.

I was able to screw it very tight so it’s not an issue for me. But I also think that this connection is a bit too fragile, given the fact that the weight of the whole rig might pull on it.

different question... I use the canon r5c too and I was wondering which external monitor do you use? And can you control the camera through your monitor? Because until now I didn't find an option that would make controlling the r5c through an external monitor possible. However I really hope there are ways to do that, as it's way more convenient than always flipping out the little LCD screen any time you want to change your ISO for example. Thanks!

Love this. Considering buying one but I’m worried about calibrating if I switch lenses- any issues with switching lenses on the fly?

What issues are you expecting? If you use a set of cine lenses, then their bodies are similar if not identical, so switching should be easy. You might have to run the calibration though, but that’s no problem.

Can you start stop REC on your R5c with this handle ? Because i tried 2 units today and it does not work with the R5 :(

Just an IKEA drill :-) I used different diameters (from small to big) to be as precise as possible, I think the final diameter was 4 millimeters. I have another video coming up that will show this in a bit more detail.

Es hat leider nicht wie gewünscht geklappt. Das 100-500mm ist nicht dafür geeignet. Gilt auch fürs 70-200mm.
