I’ve been doing InkTober since 2019 and I didn’t complete it in my first year either. I always follow the official prompt list and I make a list of several ideas for each prompt. And some tips that I have are that you can use old art that relates to a particular prompt on some days and post them as a way to take a break and avoid burnout. Also, it’s okay to have some days where you do simpler pieces and some that are complex. And when I go to look at other artists’ takes on the challenge, I like leaving witty comments or ones that have personality in them

Oh my goodness! Was that the Loveland Frog? You get a follow for that. I like the idea of limiting things like style or supplies. Also it can not be stressed enough to be prepared. My first year I spent so much extra time chasing down pens and ink every day. I also love Just Start! Honestly. I kind of forgot. I will do my first drawing today.

Planning is a great idea. I tend to get stuck thinking on what to do for prompts.

Hey, Mela! Thanks so much for the tips, especially planning. It's my first Inktober, so I'm totally open to suggestions on how to survive and thrive. My plan for now is to start simple, just folded copy paper, ballpoint pens, the official prompts and my camping memories, pics (15) and physical gear, working day by day. Folded copy paper is what I used for an art journal while camping in the Colorado Rockies six years ago, so it's significant to the story, as well as budget-friendly from being on-hand. Can't wait to see what you create! 🎨

I love that your Inktober is going to have the Colorado camping backstory! That's unique!
