5 Tips on Taking Press Shots for Musicians | PLUS BTS

If you already follow me over on Instagram, you'll know that this video has caused me days of problems trying to export it - so I'm VERY excited to finally get it out to you. Let me know what you think, and if you have any further tips to add.
Working with musicians, photographing images for press use, was one of the things that first got me into photography, and it's something that I still do on a regular basis. For me, connecting and working with amazing musicians is a highlight of my job.

Great images & yet again great tips Sophia, the one about the range of shots for different functions i.e Spotify thumbnail, flyers etc feels like it'd be the type of rookie mistake that someone getting into the profession would make & get a bad reputation straight out if the gate, so I'm sure lots of people will find that particular tip the most valuable 👍 Keep the great content coming

Very helpful to me as an indie artist/label just starting out, thank you! I need to find someone like you in Canada near where I live, you totally get it, I've never seen anything like it. I do live in a sparsely populated region and have had like no budget up to this point, so it's all been Facebook friends volunteer amatuer photographer type deals, which I didn't expect professional level from anyway, and TBH the bulk of my photos I have to work with, (and the best of them), were taken by me alone with selfie sticks or at best a timer and a half decent new camera phone with a tripod, that I have to run and get into my pose which is ridiculously difficult haha.. but still, just to witness how you do it as a pro, it's so cool to see and learn about, not to mention gives me hope for the future, as I was beginning to think maybe it was just other people in general who didn't get what I wanted to achieve.. nope, it's simply the fact that they are beginners themselves and haven't learned yet; I also realize I need to hit up some modeling education/training of some kind, so ty for that too lol Anyways, as y'all say in the UK, absolute legend! hahaha Keep up the good work! This is great. I would love to work with a photographer with your mindset and passion. This is not the experience I normally get with the people I hire behind the camera. They make me feel like they only care about the money but not my vision or the possibilities of how I could leverage great quality results.

Ah that’s such a shame! There are definitely so many photographers out there who have a true passion for photography, and for music, so don’t lose all hope!
