in high school, our catcher would touch his mask or chest if it was a fastball or off speed. so us outfielders could then adjust in our approach and be able to cheat a bit in either direction. knowing the hitters this helped. if they were behind on the fastball, we would cheat to the opposite side. and so on.

That's a great way to do it!

@@aidanflynn2037 not if it’s obvious. Not like he slapped each item. Lol. It was subtle that we only noticed. Plus it was high school. They were not too bright.

Coach, your instruction is priceless. I use your training and coaching to help my son make the team. Yesterday, a bloop to right field, he charged, the ball went in the glove started to pop out but he used two hands unlike the rest of his teammates. A routine play for many but my son hasn't played since 4th grade. Keep your videos coming.
@rslwannabe94752 жыл бұрын
You don't need to use two hands after you reach a certain point. It's actually better to catch it with one hand if you can, look at big leaguers

Yeh this is great , I also say for little league & junior baseball judge how deep you go into the outfield on the size of the guy at the plate as size & weight usually equals power .

Your excellent dialogue in the video will be greatly enhanced if you show players performing the type of throw/play you're describing. It will improve how the viewer understands the terms and physics of what you're teaching. Great stuff.

My highschool right field had a 4 ft hill that jumped up to the warning track and then fence. Players from other teams - yeah, that hill clipped the legs all day long.

I had a game last week and as a leadoff hitter, the other teams cf moved up like 20 feet, so I just hit a triple over his head.

I’ve just moved from infield to outfield and I am using a 11.75 glove should I invest another $300 on a bigger glove or will the smaller glove not make to big of a difference
@kadinbrabender98365 жыл бұрын
11.75 is not to small so it should still be able to work
@nc_mtbmedic13995 жыл бұрын
Its personal preference i prefer a 13.5 - 14 inch glove but i have xl hands

Using a smaller glove will force you to be a better ball player.

Do not field the groundball on your glove hand side. This has been taught for decades and is wrong. It robs you of precious seconds when trying to throw someone out.
