Lots of good information here. I've been designing illustrations for years selling on stock sites and have had reasonable success. I just recently started creating t-shirts. I like Redbubble but up until recently my technique is been throw designs at the wall see what sticks. I am starting to take a more disciplined approach to designing and vids like this definately help.

What about if it says on Etsy that a particular item has sold out?! (Or if you heart an item, then go back month or so later it has sold out? This has happened with my saved searches a lot, particularly with jewelry.) Surely that means it is a good seller?

It could be - it might also mean that they are a small seller and only ordered 3 and they sold all 3. I would agree if the store is large (lots of products) and they have lots of sales, then you could be onto something!

I have a question. Since I am looking at my own products a lot, I see my products popping up a lot on Redbubble on shirts similar to someone's product or items I have viewed. But today to my surprise when I was on KZbin (and of course I watch a lot of videos on Redbubble) this is the first time I saw one of my products in an ad before the list of videos I can watch about Redbubble. Is this a real ad that everyone can see on KZbin, or is it just there because it is one of my products that I have viewed a lot?

That’s a great question - it is hard to say without seeing the ad specifically, but your computer would typically track websites that you visit so it is possible that the ad shows previously viewed stuff (I have seen this with comic book websites I visit).

Yes, it's 100% illegal. Unless the anime character you're drawing is 100% yours and is not from an existing anime/manga/other shows. Basically, the anime *art style* is OK, any existing anime *characters* however, are not.

I would say it's illegal but there are some exceptions. There are public domain images but these are not typically modern-day anime or modern-day celebrities. I would avoid all that and pick a niche you like (that have very little competition).

Technically anything is possible - I don't make a ton of money through Redbubble, but if you spend a few hours a week having fun and make designs that people actually want to buy, I've seen people make a few hundred a month, sometimes more.

I know it can be a bit daunting, but it is possible. I've done it a few times. You have to have designs that stand out and people actually want to buy. I'm pretty lazy though so I just pick niches where is very little competition (like 300 or less designs) and bang out like 50 designs in that niche.
