Honestly I'm 1:21 into the video and I just liked and subscribed. Why? I just came from a video that explained submitting art to Redbubble and they only selected a few products that THEY liked, and said that they weren't taking the time to go through and select colors, etc. with the rest. In my opinion that's small minded thinking and limits one's potential. You're there already, why not make the most of it? Your comment about taking a moment to select and customize most or all of the products as it increases opportunities resonates as good business sense to me. I'm in. :)

For the sticker thing, you can save a copy of dark designs where you change the colors to a light design such as black txt or giving the image a colored background or you could give the dark design image a background color and save a copy or version like that. Afterwards when you are uploading you can click to change the image only for the stickers and magnets and it allows you to have the image different only for that product but still be in the same design under the portfolio rather than a separate upload

Your videos are great. Good pace and level of detail. Do you mind me asking how many designs you had to upload to be making that £500 a month, and what kind of time did it take you?
@PassiveOwl
@PassiveOwl 6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that positive feedback! I think your question is difficult to answer because I wasn't focused on the task at hand the entire time, so I can't give a realistic time estimate. I've also got multiple accounts. The one which shows £500+ p/m has been going about a year and a half and has about 70 uploads, but I've left it without doing anything for months at a time while I worked on other projectsc. Not like I sat down every day to work on it. There was someone in the FB group who made over over $250 in her first month on Redbubble - 15th Feb 2018 payday - with no prior experience (see passiveowl.com and CTRL+F "her first month"). TL;DR - I can't tell you how long it'll take to get to my level. Could be a lot quicker than me if you focus your efforts on it entirely. Everyone is different. I've done this multiple times now though and I've seen 20+ people go from nothing to making money in the past month alone in the FB group, so the opportunity is still there!

Great video! Thanks for this, Passive Owl. #subscribed Question for ya: what do you do if you want to offer several different colored shirts (contrast) for the same design? Do you create multiple products using the same design and then just change the color for each? I would think that RedBubble would allow the shopper to choose the color contrast they want. Thx for the help!

Thanks for the video and all the tips :) Question: When you select a display color, does that limit the buyers options, or are they able to still adjust the color later on when they are making their purchase? I'm guessing that adjusting the colour is just a way to set the image up properly for your storefront, so that it actually looks good.
@PassiveOwl
@PassiveOwl 6 жыл бұрын
You're welcome :-) Selecting a display colour doesn't limit the buyers options on Unisex/large print clothing products as seen at 1:25 - they can still adjust the colour later and all choices are available to them, but other items where you can set a colour at 6:02 onwards does limit the customer to that one colour, unfortunately. Merch by Amazon automatically set the display image to the best selling colour once you start making sales. I wish Redbubble would implement this feature. It ensures the most popular colour choice gets displayed at all times in the search results.

I liked this video, however, you didn't mention dimensional requirements for the art to be placed on the various items. They want certain pixel dimensions for each item to be sold. Duvets, for instance, require quite a large size file. Thanks.

Good video! I see that you are using white text design and am curious how it will be applied to white background products like white t-shirt for example? Will Redbubble automatically exclude white color clothes if the design is white? There’s no option to have different design color for white clothes than to make separate upload for that? In that case if I use black design on white then black t-shirt will be “blank”. Confused and appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Your videos are excellent. Very well thought out with terrific presentation. The voice-overs are excellent. So novel to come across a KZbinr who is well spoken with correct grammar and complete sentences, who is also not yelling at his viewers with no use of slang or juvenile terms. It's been ages since I've come across a video that has not started with, "Hey, what's up guys?!" Give notable consideration to making extra income by getting paid to do voice-overs for others.

That's probably the nicest complement I've received here - thank you! It frustrates me no end to have to listen to so much unnecessary commentary in YT vids - a prime example here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZmoc6COfrNoidE - I have nothing against the guy, but wow, that introduction was crazy long and totally irrelevant. Though he seems to be doing very well on Patreon with over 100 pledges compared to my 1 and only, so perhaps he's doing something right after all!

Love this video. I was not sure if I understood Redbubble's 'Product Preview' page and editing. I learned I understood more than I thought, plus a few added tips from you. One question... for example a pillow., When I change the background color, add the image, is the background color what the customer will receive? I'm thinking, yes. But Redbubble's color selection is awful. Which I could find a nice color other than black. Thank you for the youtube videos. They are very informative.
@PassiveOwl
@PassiveOwl 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Barbara. Assuming your upload is transparent, then the background colour you select on RB will be what the customer receives. You are limited on some of the products but for most of them you can select any colour you want. You just need the hex code for the colour you want to use and you can paste that into RB. I think that's what you're asking? If not, let me know.

Thank you. The RB upload process needs a huge overhaul as it takes way too long. There was at one point a script for mass uploading to RB but people were suspended for using it. I'm also aware of one or two Chrome extensions which can speed things up but I personally don't endorse them or use them. They ask for permissions which I'm not comfortable giving. Investigate and use at your own risk!

@PassiveOwl
@PassiveOwl 4 жыл бұрын
Hey! It depends on your design but personally for socks I just set the design style to "offset grid" by going to the socks and clicking edit > choose pattern > offset grid. I scale the design down or up depending on what suits it and you can't go wrong as your design ends up all over the socks. If you're designing something unique specifically for socks, there is a template for you to design over here: 1ii65ybkkbx4be3w81ausxw1-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Sock_Artist_Template_Final-1080x1003.png - hope this helps :)

I see. Different images will have different rules. Some are free for commercial use, some aren't. It really depends on what you're using and why so can't give a blanket answer. Make sure they're free for commercial use. A site like Pexels, for example, state their public domain images are public domain according to the CC0 license and free to use commercially - www.pexels.com/public-domain-images/
