My number 6: build your station at altitude. Consider two identical coasters. The first has a station at ground level, followed by a lift hill, the "standard" coaster. The second coaster has a station at altitude. It goes immediately into a downward hill, so the ride moves swiftly, increasing throughput. The ride ends with the chain lift, and the trains' momentum carries them about halfway up, further increasing throughput. Finally, the coaster is now immune to station brake failures even with three trains; the third train will lightly "bonk" the stationary trains on the lift hill rather than crashing into them at speed.

On tip #5 I like to color code my coasters according to their intensity. Blue for under 4, Yellow for over 4 but under 7 and red for 7+ this way I can see quickly if I am neglecting a certain group of guests.

Thats a great idea! That's super practical for doing scenarios

I like using colours to accentuate the theming of a ride; for example, I have a "triple coaster" formed of 3 track segments forming a larger loop. All of them have the same colour supports with red, yellow, or blue track on top. Plus, I just like bright colours, they're fun.

Spoiler: . . . 1. Build lift hill parallel to your station. 2. Add more rises to your drops. 3. Helixes are your friend. 4. Don't be afraid of diagonal pieces. 5. Use appropriate color schemes.

Great video! I’ve been playing RCT since it first came out 25 years ago. Your suggestions are good ones. Keep up the good work!

I see someone here is not a roller coaster enthusiast. Tho that is the beauty of RCT. You don’t need to be a roller coaster enthusiast to be good at the game

Tip: add a sloped curve in between lift hill pieces to make a spiral lift hill, or add steep un-lifted pieces in between lift pieces to make a very compact lift hill. These do require longer trains though but can make for very compact designs

The helix is my piece for corkscrew coasters, but I don't often use helixes on other coaster types.

Ye turn after a drop is great excitement killer given how much Lateral Gs are put on.
@Maxmilian6663 жыл бұрын
At 1:50 the drop has absolutely nothing with high intensity and low excitement. You have 3.37 lateral G's. That's the whole screwup.
@hardhat3 жыл бұрын
Yes but a drop that high going into the first turn is what causes the lateral g's in the first place . If you just add a hill before the turn it alleviates the problem because now you're not taking the turn at a speed that gives you the point penalty. You have to remember that this video is for beginners and if you tell someone not super familiar with the mechanics of the game "Hey you're lateral G's are too high", they can see that the number is red but likely they'll have no idea how to fix it so I just tried to give an example of why that particular problem might be happening and how to fix it.

Wooden Coaster as its description suggests is rough so while it gets better excitement from G forces it also gets intensity also bit faster.

6: Build smaller coasters, not giant ones, they will do the same thing for cheaper
@toddkes58903 жыл бұрын
Just make sure that if you are doing the 'difficult guests' option, that your coasters are at least 600 meters long, and have an excitement rating of 6+. When the scenario uses normal guests, each item in the park contributes to a soft cap to the number of guests. If the number of guests exceeds that soft cap, guests are 25% as likely to come in. When the scenario uses the difficult guests, the same soft cap is used, but that total maxes at 1000 guests. The game then goes back through, and adds double benefit for coasters with excitement of 6+ and length 600+m. If you have larger coasters, you can get a higher number of guests this way.

What is a diagonal piece?
@sfisher9233 жыл бұрын
a variant of some track pieces that comes when you build a Wide bend (closest to the middle on the Construction Menu) but only build 1/3/5 of those bends (The Second Drop of Goliath in the "Six Flags Magic Mountain" Scenario an example)

I believe so. Some of the elements are different on some of the coasters in the first game so you might not be able to replicate this perfectly but yeah, generally these tips should apply for the most part
