I have noticed that when I actually write out a schedule for the week, and on each day, what I want to try and accomplish on each specific day. I can for the most part, actually achieve every I have on paper. I allow for some "margin of error" in there, because not everything is going to he a 100% perfect with the schedule. I try to throw in some stretching and exercise time as well. Gotta stay healthy to stay productive!!!

Excellent video. There’s a great book called ‘Getting Things Done’ by David Allen (I have no relationship w/ him or the book) It lays out how to get and stay organized. One of the keys is your calendar. If you put something on your calendar, then that’s when you do it. In the real world, the unexpected happens and you might need to reschedule. But the question you have to ask yourself is: Is this new event more important that what I have scheduled? If it’s not, then schedule the new event at a different time. And as I learned the hard way, practice does not make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect…

I have 1 thing to add to your list. Yes work hard, efficiently, and make the best of it, bit also be mindful of the signs telling you to take a break. For instance, in my experience, working on an old car, laying a tool somewhere obvious to see, but it's somehow disappeared. Take a break, eat a sammich, clear your mind. Come back and the tool has suddenly reappeared. In other words make a strategic withdrawal before you mess up the project or yourself

Great tips. I'm working full time. But I'm still building my business. I went full time by default after covid closed down where I was working and due to some medical issues. But now that things are better in the medical area... it's time to get serious and get productive. Having a set time that I work still needs to apply. Having a plan still applies. Keeping organized.... using build plans and knowing when to stop... all apply and are what I need to work on. This video was helpful to remind me of those things. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for sharing the scripture.

Organization next on my list. I tell the wife it’s be better if I can build drawers for my assembly table and get the mess of crap off my reloading bench. Will be so much easier to find things and she’s be able to help me more like she wants to do without me taking time out to find things for her. I’ll get there. Got plans to build a miter station with cabinets for all sorts or stuff that’s sprawled out all over.

Believe it or not, I been doing this more. I had to rebuild my chicken coop but ran out of screws (yes, I been using deck screws for the build). I had to buy some. Well, I found a good deal so spent about $153 on 50 lbs of screws to do my projects. That comes to about 0.0326 cents a screw. So it will help me count and keep tabs of my expenses per project. Part of the paperwork is knowing what goes into the build of the projects you make so it helps me to find a good price, budget for my projects lumber, and time. Helps me with paperwork in the end cause it reduces the time of sitting in front of my computer with all the inputs. Excel makes it wonderful. Love the checklist for shop idea. I will implement this also. I love your motivation! Time to make more dust! I have to stop at 7PM though cause neighbors hate my loud tools.

I really enjoy watching your videos. It gives me that inspiration to get back at it. I think as a mom who does a lot everyday my woodworking gets pushed off more than I’d like to admit. I currently have two projects I’m building. One easy peasy and another one with a summer delivery. The second is a custom work at home desk for a gentleman who has lots of hardware (3 monitors, two laptops), and would like power ports in the back. Have never done this but know what it will look like in my head. Any tips are appreciated!
